The original one is full, having reached 1,000 posts shock, so I thought we could start again!

Perhaps Rob's brother will come to Ambridge too and whisk Helen on to his white horse ...

AyjayF Tue 16-Feb-16 19:45:47

Ursula is messing with our minds now. What is going on???

merlotgran Tue 16-Feb-16 20:27:34

I think she's messing with Helen's house grin

NfkDumpling Wed 17-Feb-16 07:45:18

Ursula has taken Henry off for a walk - on her own. Is this significant? Will she come back? Will Rob approve? On tenterhooks here!

mrshat Wed 17-Feb-16 16:28:15

I'm not certain she really is Rob's mum! Maybe an accomplice to share the spoils when Rob get complete control of the shop, possibly the farm and also all the money that 'Granny' gave to Helen. Trust noone!!! grin

katie1 Wed 17-Feb-16 19:03:58

Ursula is creepy, even her voice..perhaps they both have a plan to control Helen.

Elrel Wed 17-Feb-16 19:16:05

How very Gothic it is all getting.

I can't believe no one is in touch with Oliver and Caroline, surely they'll get wind of the non-Grundy cattle on non-Grundy land ere long!

Nelliemoser Wed 17-Feb-16 19:22:47

MrsHat grin grin

baNANAGran3 Wed 17-Feb-16 22:17:08

Can't understand why Ursula was so odd on her first visit & now SEEMS to be sweetness and light - and why was Rob at pains not to be there when she arrived? Her voice is well cast, at times creepy like Rob's.
I usually don't listen live, so save a few episodes to download & listen while ironing. When do others listen & what do you during the programne? Would be interesting to know and compare!

merlotgran Wed 17-Feb-16 22:22:10

I listen every evening on my laptop with headphones. I used to enjoy the omnibus on Sunday mornings but there were too many interruptions, even if I shut myself in the dining room with the ironing.

shysal Thu 18-Feb-16 07:40:48

I record the omnibus each Sunday on my TV box. I save up things to do in the living room while I listen, usually after my 2 hour Sunday morning walk. If the sun is shining I sit by the French window and eat lunch and then struggle to stay awake, often having to rewind a few times! In the summer I sit on the patio with a 5 metre earphone extension lead plugged into the TV, so as not to disturb the neighbours.

I ought not to read this thread during the week, but can't resist!

NfkDumpling Thu 18-Feb-16 08:18:19

I tend to listen in the evenings while washing up, but frequently miss episodes and end up avoiding it so I can catch up on the iPad whilst ironing. Also I can never remember which is the repeat, lunchtime or evening, so tend to get in a tangle. (A bit like my life really)

I am finding I'm getting a bit Rob/Helen obsessed and get quite frustrated when they're excluded from an episode.

nansoval Thu 18-Feb-16 08:26:08

I agree with J52 and Luckylegs9, I thought the other day that Tom and Kristy seemed to be the only ones questioning anything that's going on with Helen and that they would rescue her and re-kindle the wedding.

AyjayF Thu 18-Feb-16 09:51:50

Does anyone else get the characters viices mixed up? Sometimes I have to wait for a name to be mentioned before I know who's talking.

Nanabelle Thu 18-Feb-16 18:48:06

Hurrah. Sean O'Connor (Editor) is leaving the Archers and is back off to East Enders. Thank goodness - maybe now we can go back to the genuine characters and stories and consistency of their characters - and an end please to the Rob/Helens story. And I hope they don't turn him into a goody before Sean leaves.

Iam64 Thu 18-Feb-16 18:49:41

They couldn't possibly turn Rob into a "goody". His abusive behaviour towards Helen has been so well established - even if he went on one of these new courses to magically change abusers into loving partners, no chance!

NfkDumpling Fri 19-Feb-16 07:52:36

But Rob loves Helen. Just a little too much!!

NfkDumpling Fri 19-Feb-16 07:54:32

And yes Ayjay I get some of the characters muddled. Especially the boys, Tom, Matthew and Whatshisname.

LullyDully Fri 19-Feb-16 08:11:23

Voices are an on going problem . A few of the younger men are not distinctive enough. I often have to wait for a context to work out who's who.....bring back Walter Gabriel.

starbird Fri 19-Feb-16 09:49:31

I think some of the actors play more than one character which is confusing.

I used to listen to the omnibus and sit in my pyjamas having a late breakfast and coffee, I have evdn been known to listen in bed on a cold, grey day, but more recdntly I have started to listen to episodes during the week on catchup on my i-pad when there is nothing better to do in the evening.

Rob's mother is a mystery, as is his changed attitude to her. It is all a bit odd methinks..

phoenix Fri 19-Feb-16 19:20:02

Tonight's episode shock

merlotgran Fri 19-Feb-16 19:20:51

I thought Ursula was too good to be true. hmm

Alea Fri 19-Feb-16 19:27:27

Creepy and very scary.
I suppose she really is Rob's mother?

phoenix Fri 19-Feb-16 19:29:23

It's all getting too much, please script writers bloody well get on with it!

Luckygirl Fri 19-Feb-16 20:35:41

Groan - it is getting silly now. It is reasonable to suppose that Rob is a controlling psychopath, but to have a mother who is equally nuts defies belief.
