I find it ( and him) totally mesmerising and the music is fantastic. I have absolutely no idea what is going on but don't really care. DH seems to understand it which baffles me as he can't hear the TV properly at the best of times

I have loved it since the first series. As Brummies we were put off by the strange accents but soon got over that. The music is fantastic and adds greatly to the atmosphere, especially when the camera pans down a street where we can see smoke and flames from the small industries -welding?? This series doesn't have the best plot but it is still unmissable. It's up there with The Sopranos for me.

I love it too! As my family are born and bred and still live in Birmingham, some of them find it irritating due to the dodgy Birmingham accents and won't watch it. I have got over that and think it's fantastic and I can't take my eyes of Tommy I have always wondered why, when there is a drama involving a Brummie, no one can get the accent right. I'm sure there must be some Birmingham born actors out there. Still that's just a small point, I love the programme.

grannyactivist....Totally agree re.Versailles.I was expecting a lavish,historical drama similar to Wolf Hall, with bling.Without doubt it was a lively court,but discretion would have worked much better.I feel it will put many viewers off watching.

Wouldn't their accents be a mixture of gypsy and brummie? Whatever that is but make it weird?

Peaky Blinders is brilliant drama.... a cross between thuggery and theatre.
Best characters are Polly and Arthur.

Was soooo looking forward to it after being an avid follower, fab music, stylish etc etc but now much too much gratuitous violence especially from Tommy's mad brother. Have given up Blue Eyes !

I loved the first two series but find this one weak in the plot department and OTT regarding graphic sex. I still enjoy it though. I think the production values are excellent and of course those blue eyes are amazing!
My favourite characters are Polly and Arthur. As a Brummie myself I think Arthur's accent is pretty authentic. He reminds me a bit of my grandad...minus the psychopathic tendencies.

I agree fiorentina Arthur's accent is the most authentic. I have to say Tommy's is not too bad considering he is Irish in real life

I am with you kittylester, I sometimes lose my grip on the plot but who cares! He is mesmerising and the acting is brilliant, especially the actor playing troubled Arthur fighting his demons. I also agree that the violence and sex are an essential part of the story, if they had been missed out it would have just been a historical drama. The music is fantastic and I was thrilled to hear last night, in Tommy's dream sequence, the track from the late great Bowie, about looking down from heaven. Bowie must have been a fan to have given permission for it to be used. The photography and lighting is stunning, not something I usually notice; the scenes in the engineering/foundry with the blackness and the blasts of flame are superb.

There was an article in the paper the other day saying that Peaky Blinders was Bowies favourite series and he actually asked for his music to be included. I missed the start of this weeks episode but how surreal that that particular song was used for that scene. By the time I switched the telly on Tommy was up and running again and I wondered how he could have recovered from such a serious injury so quickly [but then they do in these programmes, don't they ].

OK. Please will someone explain what happened at the end?

And where did Tommy's deal with Tatiana fit in?

I thought I had a grip on what was going on until she appeared and then it all went over my head.

Just the end? I haven't understood the whole series...

What's not to like? Every series has been brilliant and Gill57 sums it up well.

The final scene shows Tommy bringing a plan forward to steal the goodies from the Russian Vault by 'tunnelling' using men he had served with in his army days . The Jewish gang leader is falling in line to help and hates the Russians who he said "hunted his mother with dogs".

I love the twists and turns between the political and gangland groups, the Priest is going to meet his maker and I hope it's Polly who does the deed for her son.

Tommy's done a deal with the government. The family is going to turn Kings evidence, job done. Although the family didn't realise they were part of the plan.

Tommy has the bullet with The Priests name on it doesn't he? Polly's son wants to kill The Priest but Polly said she would take Tommy down if he did. Polly now knows what hand she has in Tommy being beaten up and her sons dealings with The Priest so I am thinking she does the killing to make up for her actions.

All good stuff.

I thought the government was in on it all. Yes, there were some important people out for themselves (and the priest was their agent), but I thought the government was playing both sides in the insurrection.

Colour me confused.
