"Alas poor Scruff, I knew him well, who could forget that pungent smell?"

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 20:04:43

Echoing Jbf's Oh wow. Graham Seed has a part and three none speaking jurors in true TA tradition. I am still trying to work out who some of them are (don't watch East Enders) but it looks stellar.

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 19:59:00

Well found merlot. That answers my questions!

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 19:57:38

Some people are really nice Jinglsmile I don't think that was out of character as he has been written so far.

Do you mean you would not agree with any of the Jury on principle?confused What if they didn't agree with one another? I agree jury service can be a pretty onerous task but the "beyond reasonable doubt" is such a helpful measure.

I feel the fact that she had just made custard was not brought out enough. Does anyone who intends to murder someone make custard from scratch? I think that should get her off the murder charge wink

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 09-Sept-16 19:44:08

Will listen out for Shabnam from 'enders.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 09-Sept-16 19:43:34

Wow! They are having a ball with it. grin

merlotgran Fri 09-Sept-16 19:38:45

Here's what's happening on Sunday!

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 09-Sept-16 19:37:47

Hopefully, give him a year or two, and he will stagger off the rails with the rest of them.

phoenix Fri 09-Sept-16 19:35:53

Agree, jings Little Master Sunshine, but I suppose a bit of light relief?

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 09-Sept-16 19:30:48

I am so glad I have never had to go on a jury. I would never agree with the rest of them! shock

Johnny is an unbelievable character. As if! grin

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 19:26:45

I try telling myself we didn't hear it all phoenix but I think that Anna would have mentioned it if they had. We didn't hear Neil at all.

I think Tom was right that they are better off without the prejudiced juror although sometimes people like that can persuade others to balance them out.

I presume most of Sunday will be waiting for the verdict or will we here the jury cogitating - I don't think we had any new characters in the cast list so perhaps not. Maybe we will be hearing the views of other TA characters.

merlotgran Fri 09-Sept-16 19:23:08

Isn't Johnny just the best character of all?

I don't think Rob did very well in his rebuttal. Anna summed him up perfectly.

Sunday it is then.

phoenix Fri 09-Sept-16 19:17:58

Not a bad summing up by Anna, I feel, but a shame that neither Jess, nor Ian spoke about witness intimidation.

merlotgran Fri 09-Sept-16 17:09:01

My Rob Relief Kit is a large G&T.

He doesn't have any earlobes so I think I'll start with some painful piercings where they should be!

LullyDully Fri 09-Sept-16 16:53:19

And where to stick the pins is the question to you all ?

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 16:30:55

Somebody has been busy at the Beeb todaysmile The Rob Titchener Radio Relief Kit

LullyDully Fri 09-Sept-16 16:19:07

Yes GG I am angry about that too. I don't see what the writers have to gain by it . We need a positive outcome for Helen, Henry and Jack for all this to have been worthwhile.

My blood goes cold thinking about all the women suffering abuse. Also of course those in the past over many years.

My granny was in a very unhappy marriage. My mother always said it was because they were badly suited; she is as a homebird and he was outgoing. I am wondering now, what may have happened and why my mother was an anxious person all her life.

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 15:02:36

I really think you have hit the nail on the head LG and responsibility is exactly what they should feel. There is nothing to choose between having your soul destroyed and being physically beaten but, as Kirsty said, the way of the 'Robs' of this world doesn't show bruises so is more difficult to prosecute. As you say this story line will hopefully provide awareness and empowerment which is one reason why I wish they hadn't added the Twitter issue.

Lazigirl Fri 09-Sept-16 14:18:33

Your link is so sad Graces and that is why I feel the SW have a responsibility to get this right because there are women, and some men out there, who may be in similar circumstances, and may gain awareness about the abusive coercion in their relationship and relate to, and be empowered by this story line.

Three things revealed in The Archers trial Three things you might not have known about modern courts...

Gracesgran Fri 09-Sept-16 12:47:47

'So under his control' - whirlwind romance turned to abuse - This is a very difficult read.

merlotgran Fri 09-Sept-16 12:34:27

Bruce is a pantomime villain (I love a bit of boo, hiss) but I think in RL he would have been more restrained. So would Pat and Tony.

I'm still wondering what they're doing about Henry? Surely somebody is concerned about the home environment? Bruce can't even bring himself to say his name. hmm

AyjayF Fri 09-Sept-16 11:38:18

Bruce is the character I absolutely LOVE to hate?

Iam64 Fri 09-Sept-16 09:00:08

Who made the sperm diner error Luckygirl? Was it me ?

Luckygirl Fri 09-Sept-16 08:56:15

"Sperm diner"........hmm! grin

AyjayF Thu 08-Sept-16 22:41:09

This is all supertense-making
