Bruce is a pantomime villain (I love a bit of boo, hiss) but I think in RL he would have been more restrained. So would Pat and Tony.
I'm still wondering what they're doing about Henry? Surely somebody is concerned about the home environment? Bruce can't even bring himself to say his name.
Your link is so sad Graces and that is why I feel the SW have a responsibility to get this right because there are women, and some men out there, who may be in similar circumstances, and may gain awareness about the abusive coercion in their relationship and relate to, and be empowered by this story line.
I really think you have hit the nail on the head LG and responsibility is exactly what they should feel. There is nothing to choose between having your soul destroyed and being physically beaten but, as Kirsty said, the way of the 'Robs' of this world doesn't show bruises so is more difficult to prosecute. As you say this story line will hopefully provide awareness and empowerment which is one reason why I wish they hadn't added the Twitter issue.
Yes GG I am angry about that too. I don't see what the writers have to gain by it . We need a positive outcome for Helen, Henry and Jack for all this to have been worthwhile.
My blood goes cold thinking about all the women suffering abuse. Also of course those in the past over many years.
My granny was in a very unhappy marriage. My mother always said it was because they were badly suited; she is as a homebird and he was outgoing. I am wondering now, what may have happened and why my mother was an anxious person all her life.
I try telling myself we didn't hear it all phoenix but I think that Anna would have mentioned it if they had. We didn't hear Neil at all.
I think Tom was right that they are better off without the prejudiced juror although sometimes people like that can persuade others to balance them out.
I presume most of Sunday will be waiting for the verdict or will we here the jury cogitating - I don't think we had any new characters in the cast list so perhaps not. Maybe we will be hearing the views of other TA characters.
Some people are really nice Jingl I don't think that was out of character as he has been written so far.
Do you mean you would not agree with any of the Jury on principle? What if they didn't agree with one another? I agree jury service can be a pretty onerous task but the "beyond reasonable doubt" is such a helpful measure.
I feel the fact that she had just made custard was not brought out enough. Does anyone who intends to murder someone make custard from scratch? I think that should get her off the murder charge
Echoing Jbf's Oh wow. Graham Seed has a part and three none speaking jurors in true TA tradition. I am still trying to work out who some of them are (don't watch East Enders) but it looks stellar.
