YAYY! GBM is back!

Really?? The trite voice over, the hyper edited fake snarling between the contestants. The over long pauses before anything is announced! The first series had a bit of novelty value and was for a worthy event....but Puleeze its so past its sell by date.

Realise I sound like one of those bigoted types who cannot see the good in anything but am sorry to say I do not like this programme at all.

Yes felice similar happend to my sister only it was a mass of salt in the soup.

Good old karma at work. He (some time later) got locked up for fraud!

Oh they are very very competitive, I was once unknown to me in the running for a job as Head banqueting chef in a big Hotel here.
The other chef I was working with who had found out the job was going to placed put fine sugar all over a rice salad I had made, then sugar in some garlic mayonnaise.
I was offered the job but had not wanted it in the first place. No Idea what happened to the other man.

I enjoyed the first and second series
I like Pru Leith especially as she judged a National chef of the year and my sister came second
Isn't it on much later this year?
I seem to remember that the finals were usually on while we were on summer hols.
I felt that each series had to out do the last with how wacky the presentation could be
But it is a programme about food and Chefs.
Food preparation and cooking is evolving very quickly driven by fashion and the media.
Chefs and cooks are no longer left behind kitchen doors.
They are out there competing,demonstrating and promoting their Art Form.

Yes, unfortunately he did come across as bit of a big head ( ' I'd give it 10 out of 10' )and grumpy when the judges' critised his dishes. I was so pleased Michael (?) won the heat. His attitude was totally different to the young guy,
recognising when something wasn't as perfect as he wanted it to be. It's not a home cookery prog. that's for sure... too fancy and technical but I might try a simple version of Michael 's whisky Mac ice cream and jelly. Kid's party food for adults!

I find it a bit irritating actually. this obsession with putting a 'modern' twist on everything.
Lemon Meringue Pie without the Lemon and it just looked awful.
I so wanted to give the sulky young one a piece of my mind or a quick skelp even.
Not sure if I will continue watching or not.

Will back out slowly and return to the foodie sites...

I enjoy this programme, especially the judging on Fridays. The fish course in the half bottle looked stunning this week!
I was pleased to note that there weren't as many moody shots of the chefs giving each other the evil eye as in the last few series.

I can't watch it because I can't stand the voice of the woman who does the commentary.
