So, as the trial has been and gone, we are all glad that Helen won, and Rob had his true self revealed, will the rift 'tween Adam & Ian be healed?

Whose jam will be judged to be the best? Will Joe approach his final rest?

Will Grange Farm rent be paid on time?

Can I be arsed inspired to write more drivel rhyme?

Away we go!

GracesGranMK2 Fri 07-Apr-17 19:16:38

Oh, oh ... oh!!!

GracesGranMK2 Wed 05-Apr-17 22:58:36

I'm not sure I expected Emma to do that. I wonder where this is going. Is it meant to kick Ed into action? Peggy gave her the advice and I seem to remember she basically ended up running the pub by herself as her first Jack was such a waste of space but I'm not sure if I have made that upconfused

I'm sure I've just heard Pip tell Josh if he wanted some peas he could use Rickyard.

Maybe she keeps them with the marbles she's gradually losing. hmm

Lazigirl Mon 03-Apr-17 14:31:35

I agree Hunt. Bring back the old Pip - and Tom, still can't recognise his voice.

eGJ Mon 03-Apr-17 12:57:43

And how soon before Carol's "herbs" are revealed for what they are?!! Could Tobee's gin have them as well as Jill's "herbal tea2? grin

Hunt Mon 03-Apr-17 11:06:57

I've gone off Pip ever since they changed the person playing the part.

grumppa Sun 02-Apr-17 20:33:58

AIBU to be driven mad by the way the ghastly Pip pronounces Tobeeee? I keep thinking she's about to launch into a soliloquy from Hamlet.

They deserve each other.

merlotgran Sun 02-Apr-17 19:20:41

Read about it on the Mumsnet thread, Lazigirl. I like Robert Snell.

Josh's rudeness is appalling and I can't wait for Pip to be found out. She's my least favourite character.

Lazigirl Sun 02-Apr-17 18:29:52

Did anyone see that a GP from Surrey, Graham Blockley who has recently retired, has revealed that he is also the actor who has played Robert Snell for the past 30 years? The amusing thing is that when he auditioned for the part of a new doctor in the series in '86 he was told he did not sound enough like a doctor and was offered the part of Robert Snell!

How soon before Jill casually mentions Pip's buttering up request for a loan?

Lucky them for being able to let their hens out. We're still in a high risk area thanks to being in the flight path to a local nature reserve.

AyjayF Tue 21-Mar-17 23:01:43

Talking of building work, Shula -- whatever happened to Darrell? Is he still in the woods??

GracesGranMK2 Sat 18-Mar-17 19:17:16

Didn't Alistair mention something about a bovine herpes virus? If that's right the Wikipedia says "Treatment is symptomatic. Anti-inflammatories reduce fever and provide pain relief. Antibiotics may be necessary if a secondary infection occurs."

It also says "Although these symptoms are mainly non-life-threatening it is an economically important disease as infection may cause a drop in production and affect trade restrictions" but I may have misheard so it could be something else altogether.

Iam64 Sat 18-Mar-17 19:05:29

I do hope there isn't to be an outbreak of some lethal cow killing virus in Ambridge. As if the flood, followed by stab gate wasn't enough for the residents.

GracesGranMK2 Sat 18-Mar-17 18:53:22

Oh Justin. First you assume that Lilian will marry you without asking. Then you ask her assuming she'll say yes.

I love the picture in this.

merlotgran Sat 18-Mar-17 18:49:19

I've just re-read my post and didn't get it quite right. The first few cows got in with Bridge Farm's cattle but there were some others that Ed put in with Adam's at Home Farm so another possible source of infection.

It would be nice if Pip is brought down a peg or six.

GracesGranMK2 Sat 18-Mar-17 18:39:40

Merlot thanks from me to about the ideas re contamination. Lots of flak about to fly I think.

Will there be the money to pay Pip and keep Josh or will they have to leave home? Will David finally make it clear he thinks his mother was right about Toby, and will Pip have a paddy when he says so or ... will Toby's business start to make money and save them all? These questions — and many others — will be answered in continuing episodes of...The Archerssmile

(I watched Soap too much in the 1970s/80s I think)

GracesGranMK2 Sat 18-Mar-17 18:26:57

'Lilian' never said she wanted a lifetime with Justin; she was very clear that it was a bit of fun. I agree she is not in love with him and he was a fool to propose in the way he did but (I imagine) in an affair you should both expect that there is a little bending of the truth. It is unlikely that Lillian meant the 'oh no Justin, I don't mind being second to your wife' type of remark. She enjoyed her more permanent relationship with Tiger because there was always the thought that it wasn't and he couldn't quite be trusted. Not how I would want a permanent relationship but it seems to suit some women.

I am sure she is not the first or last person to have a relationship just to have fun with someone she wouldn't really want to marry. On the other hand I got it completely wrong about her getting together with him in the first place so she may decide now is settling down time before it gets too late wink

Iam64 Sat 18-Mar-17 18:20:42

merlotgran, thanks for that. I'd missed the possibility of Josh as a source of contaminant. Though, you're right, surely if Bridge Farm is the source, they'd know already. I imagine the roof will go off when David discovers that Pip invested her profit in Toby's gin business and that Ruth knew this but didn't tell him. (as the mother of daughters, I confess, I too have been Spartacus)

As for silly's Lillain (great Eirel) I'm beginning to feel a bit sorry for Miranda.

Elrel Sat 18-Mar-17 17:55:03

Oh dear, silly'un Lilian was only after the adrenaline thrills of an illicit relationship. Poor old Justin now wants to have fairly sedate geriatric outings with his DW. He's very conventional and she may never be that. I don't think she's in love with him at all, it was the thrill of the chase.
Come to think of it the thrill of an illicit secret relationship was Helen enjoyed with Knob when she was 'making jewellery '.
If I'm wrong Juslil may provide the al fresco entertainment on the Ascot course between races.

merlotgran Sat 18-Mar-17 09:58:31

I looked at Lowfield and they mention Josh's visits to other farms procuring farm machinery as a possible source of infection. I hadn't thought of that so I had another listen to the episode where some of Brookfield's cows escape.

Ed popped them in with some of Tony's beef cattle then rang Pip so it's unlikely the infection came from them because surely Bridge Farm would already be aware of it and therefore so would Alistair?

Josh and Pip will no doubt blame eachother and David has yet to discover what's happened to Pip's profits from the sale of her own cattle.

Great storyline.

Iam64 Sat 18-Mar-17 08:31:40

A very enjoyable Friday night cliffhanger so far as Lilian and Justin are concerned.
Tragedy and pestilence at Brookfield, I wouldn't like to be in Pip's shoes when her part in the current cow problems is made known.

Luckygirl Fri 17-Mar-17 19:47:37

Exactly as per my prediction - pauses to polish nails! grin

GracesGranMK2 Fri 17-Mar-17 19:42:53

I thought she wasn't sure. She certainly needs more wooing if she is going to be persuaded.

NfkDumpling Fri 17-Mar-17 19:25:46

Oh, Lilian!

merlotgran Wed 15-Mar-17 19:28:50

And you'd better get a move on if you want to do the Gold Cup!
