So, as the trial has been and gone, we are all glad that Helen won, and Rob had his true self revealed, will the rift 'tween Adam & Ian be healed?

Whose jam will be judged to be the best? Will Joe approach his final rest?

Will Grange Farm rent be paid on time?

Can I be arsed inspired to write more drivel rhyme?

Away we go!

She sounded like she was munching on the last of the Naan bread. At least I hope that's what it was.

phoenix Wed 10-May-17 23:01:25

I think Pip is on the verge of breaking it off (innuendo intended) wink

suzied Wed 10-May-17 19:32:33

I feel sorry for Toby. Pip is a pain in the bum.

AyjayF Wed 10-May-17 19:27:22

Ok. Did I misunderstand or could Toby not get it up? Beginning of the end because they don't have any other interests in common

Great!
Peggy's cat gets run over and PTS
I really needed that yesterday sad hmm
But news that it was Brian is bound to get out and I wouldn't give much for his chances when Lynda Snell finds out shock

Ed Grundy is one of my favourite characters in TA, and this morning I heard him on the Today programme and love him even more now! In RL he is Barry Farrimond, and is a most impressive person. He has developed and led various social enterprise schemes and in 2014 he co-founded the South West Open Youth Orchestra which is a disabled led orchestra which uses accessible music technology amongst other things, empowering even those with very limited physical ability to play music with just eye movement. Brilliant! Just thought I'd share that.

Bartleby + Gem. A match made in heaven!

Elrel Wed 03-May-17 18:48:50

Galen - only yesterday I discussed the BC with a friend. He is a retired BC geography teacher and said that technically it is limited to the South Staffs coalfield. Not a lot of people know (or believe) that!
Do you have a definition? Mine has always been a vague 'the bit between Birmingham and Wolverhampton'!

GracesGranMK2 Wed 03-May-17 16:42:56

Shysal has said exactly what I was getting at.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 03-May-17 16:41:43

Some of the other characters Merlot.

shysal Wed 03-May-17 16:09:45

Harrison, Alan and Doc Locke all sound northern to my Oxfordshire ear. I can't tell their voices apart either.

Galen Wed 03-May-17 11:30:44

Black Country me!

phoenix Wed 03-May-17 11:09:24

Actually I was brought up in Worcestershire, and can remember a lot of the local old chaps sounding exactly like Bert Fry.

phoenix Wed 03-May-17 11:08:15

I'm more confused by this bit:
If anything some of the other should know better.

merlotgran Wed 03-May-17 10:51:53

I come from Hampshire. DH comes from Yorkshire.

I don't see what that has to do with not being able to tell Alan from Harrison.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 03-May-17 10:34:05

I am sorry you don't understand Merlot - take the 'do' out as in my post before yours and see if it works for you.

NfkDumpling Wed 03-May-17 10:26:31

The ones who sound the same don't really seem to have much accent to me. confused

merlotgran Wed 03-May-17 10:04:16

I wonder which part of the country do those who think some of the characters 'all sound the same' come from

Eh? confused

GracesGranMK2 Wed 03-May-17 09:48:18

do

GracesGranMK2 Wed 03-May-17 09:47:46

Will is a well drawn character - they exist. We have seen it with many of the other male characters too so why single out poor Will. If anything some of the other should know better.

I wonder which part of the country do those who think some of the characters 'all sound the same' come from.

merlotgran Wed 03-May-17 09:05:22

Add Doc Locke to the Alan/Harrison mix as well. confused

Does anyone else remember when George last spoke? I think it was when he was having poaching lessons from Eddie. It had me wondering how on earth the Grundys were managing to afford the posh private school he obviously attends.

Roooaaarrrrrii, on the other hand, who really does go to a posh private school, can't speak at all. grin

AyjayF Wed 03-May-17 06:45:28

I am always waiting for names to be mentioned before I know who's talking. Agree Alan + Harrison are the most confusing but some of the younger characters throw me too.

phoenix Tue 02-May-17 23:30:03

BTW, I have upgraded Will to the 3, no let's make that 4 slap category, because I feel he is guilty of:

1) Being sexist re women on the cricket team

2) Trying to play the guilt trip thing on Emma re working evening shifts and the possible effect on George

3) That bloody "aaakkksent"

4) Being a damn miserable, moaning, negative, whinging git.

How his dog puts up with working with him I just don't know. And as for the pheasants, it wouldn't surprise me if they were throwing themselves into the line of fire of the guns in an act of mass suicide.

phoenix Tue 02-May-17 23:16:04

Agree with you both there, you would think that the person who seems to be the only policeman who covers every incident in Ambridge (and also seems to be the coordinator for the neighbourhood speedwatch operation in Penny Hasset, if I've got the right village, ) could at least sound different from the Vicar, unless of course...........

Elrel Tue 02-May-17 22:04:22

I was trying to decide who it was too, merlot, very similar voices.
