Watched the final episode last night...wow! What a good ending, I was really gripped by it.I won't do any spoilers in case others have recorded it and not yet watched it.

Not sure about the sister or the scientist. He said he would hear the sister singing and she didn't and they didn't cover Tom Hollander's face. I suspect both have been left open but as both are played by in-demand actors they can be written off if not available,

I thought the scientist died holding the East India Company's clerks hand on a bunk on the ship?

A brilliant series and looks like the writer wants to write 2 more series and the BBC would be nuts if it doesn't commission them before another channel snaps them up.

As Badenkate said -- I'm not sure why I was rooting for a cold-blooded killer who slept with his sister but it was so good to see it all coming together at the end. --

The real villains were those of the East India Company though. I don't know how much fact there was in the African stuff, it was more than another half century that they actually got reigned in.

I would like to know what happened next, but it was a complete story, and a good ending.

(Spoiler alert) Quite happy with Tom Hardy's fantasies. I thought it was great and there must be another series-so many unanswered questions. Is the sister dead or alive? Will Mrs Delaney survive and what about the mad scientist ? Great to see Michael Kelly from House of Cards again although he met a dreadful end.

I continued to watch because I found the recreation of 19th century London very well done. Delaney was a mumbler and TBH I didn't hear all of his dialogue. I was quite taken with Tom Hollander, he was so sleazy.

Although I did enjoy it, it was like a series of mad ramblings which had no real point to it.
I think Tom Hardy was indulging in his own fantasies, hence the self funding.

greyduster I couldn't really follow the previous episode (I haven't watched last night's) so I think I will pick up my knitting when I do watch it with husband and pretend that I understand it by occasionally grunting

At one point I said to DH "is it just me who hasn't the faintest idea where this is going?" There will almost certainly be another series or what was the point of last night's episode? If I'm honest, I don't think I actually enjoyed any of it.

What I didn't realise is that Tom Hardy funded the production at least partly.

Well , Saturday nights won't be the same now that Taboo has ended ( or has it? ) .
I got a bit lost with the goings on last night , what did the raven tell him ? But gleefully laughed out loud at demise of Sir Stuart Strange - wonderful, wonderful stuff !

I love it. Some great acting- Jonathan Pryce is such a good 'baddy"! And it was great to see Tom Hollander as the mad scientist. Fascinated by the historical stories and I am going to check up about the East India Company. It is violent and I sometimes hide my eyes, but I suppose. the times were violent.

I am hoping that comes out on a t-shirt roses - there are so many opportunities.....?

Not just the grunt...what about the menacing 'I've got a use for you!'

Imagine how they must smell! The lovely Mrs. Delaney and her red ensemble appear to stay clean despite all the walks in the Thameside mud.
Looking forward to the finale. Hope she and James get together and get away.

I've been trying out the grunt too , Badenkate! It's quite animalistic isn't it - bull , stallion , bear ?
I had to turn away from the cell violence , though . I was terrified throughout .

Just caught up and it never fails to please in the acting, the setting, the story, the whole flipping shebang.

One of the best drama for ages and there have been some damn good ones.

Can't wait for next week to hopefully get a conclusion.

Read a review that said the central character was undeveloped and uninteresting - clearly not written by a woman! ?. Love it and can't wait till next Saturday. Apparently 2 more series are being talked about.

Just watched the penultimate episode, can't wait to see the last one.Surprised that he sent his sister packing, and wish he would be a bit kinder to his own son.He and Brace still haven't out on a clean shirt.

Well - it's a long time till Saturday

I'm still hooked on it and love Tom Hardy.

I hadn't appreciated the fact Nootka Sound is a genuine area, it looks a beautiful place to live or visit for a holiday.
