It was Mary's mother that I'm in awe of..
Mary said she lived to 105 and cooked right up to the end of her life.

Mary's left hand was deformed by Polio and I think she has arthritis too, but she never mentions on her programmes that it holds her back. I too wish they didn't get her to taste her food all the time, we could guess that it tastes good without the slurping!

I enjoyed it but I didn't take anything away from it other than my empathy for her hands- we both have the same problem.

Salmon is certainly as accessible as chicken now. Venison? Well many supermarkets and butchers stock that too, well round here they do. Langoustine - poor man's lobster?

I love Mary Berry she reminds me so much of my godmother, not her ways but her looks. I always think of Mary as being someone's favourite Aunty!!!

I think she's marvellous for her age and probably more 'there' than I am, I think its more about what the directors want.....she used to have a more restrained approach that was much more her....imo!

Yes I agree - it was all bit studied if you get my meaning. Mind you she's getting on so to be admired really.
We don't eat Langostines because DH isn't keen, but we do eat salmon frequently and venison in season. It isn't any pricier than other stuff.

I actually found this a bit annoying to watch....almost as if she was 'doing a Nigella'....all that oohing and ahhing and slurping as she tasted each dish.
