A Man Called Ove

I haven't seen it but have read the book.

I love the book so much that I sort of wouldn't want to see a film version. Glad you enjoyed it though.

I loved the book too, but don't think I would like to see the film.I feel this way about many books, so not a criticism of any film.Guess I am more a book person than a film one ( and would hate to be disappointed.)
Who plays the cat?

Oh, the cat is gorgeous; a sort of long haired Birman type. I'm glad I hadn't read the book because I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen at any stage of the story. I always feel that a good film is one that stays with you for a long time after seeing it, and I was still thinking about it when I woke up today, and I feel all sad and happy at the same time. On the subject of cats, I saw A Street Cat named Bob on dvd the other week as well and was determined not to like it but the whole family were charmed by it. I wish I'd realised that Bob actually played himself for much of the film; what a cat!!I do actually want to read A Man called Ove now; may not read the whole book but would like to see how the film compares.

Definitely read the book Tegan... there is so much that Ove thinks, not sure how they can make that work in film.The power of words. Think I will re-read the book now.
