Grey duster. I so agree. I was disappointed with his rather wooden acting in this series, but his face at the end reassured me that I still rate him.

I do find it inconceivable that 'nice young man Alex', banker/financier turned into ruthless international drug dealer/killer.

Maw you’re not the only one who likes a nice bit of tailoring! I thought James Norton was very good. I liked his subtle body language in the closing scenes of yesterday’s episode. Very enjoyable series.

However James Norton’s suits deserve a credit of their own, I do like a nice bit of tailoring!

I think they’re lining it up for another series which explains the untied endings. I think Alex didn’t shake Mendez’ hand and asked him to leave the room as a sign he knew what he was up to. Alex didn’t answer the phone from Rebecca as he was warned by Vadim not to have any close ties if he was going to go down the international drug dealer route as it would mean the family was a target. Not sure what happens to Ludmilla and the bodyguard or the parents or the Israeli guy though. Complicated, but I would watch another series.

I have since seen that he has a following on twitter so it's not just me.

Well, DS and DIL said that they were following it, so I'll have to ask them what it was all about.
I still don't get the fact that the enabler from Mexico? who was at Harvard with Alex (supposedly) wasn't found out as an imposter. He looked nothing like the photo of the real student who was at Harvard with Alex iyswim. Or perhaps I missed that bit.

Father has nothing going for him has he! I suppose he did have plenty of money at one time and they still don't seem as if they're on their uppers, but he is a shambolic character.

I fell asleep for 10 minutes so it couldn't have been that rivetting, but woke in time for the Russian girl's party (will say no more).

The Russian father is a really nasty character but I do find him rather attractive - is it just me?

I have enjoyed the series, though can't fathom why the glam Russian mother has stayed with the dishevelled alcoholic cheating father. I like watching the locations- Dubai one minute, then Singapore, Tel Aviv, Prague, Moscow, a bit fast moving, can't afford to pop to the loo without pausing the action.

I actually think the story line has been ok - it is the woodeness of the lead actor that is the problem for me, but I have continued to watch it.

The last one next week I think. Have enjoyed it

Caught up with mcm last night. I got quite into it....I never minded to watching a bit of violence....I've never liked watching knife crime though....but now I tend to look away when they torture....an age thing I suppose lol....

Jalima this is proving to be one of life's great imponderables. On the surface we have smooth and polished James able to fit into any role in the thespian sense, on the other hand Danny who as we know is of the house of Plantagenet, and how many of us can say that, apart from the odd 6,000,000, or so they say! can only do one dimensional Dyer. The De Dyers were Norman royalty and as such old money. We have no reason to believe that the Nortons share Danny's royal bloodline, so as you say nouveau riche. Good God they could have even been serfs when Danny's grandad was king

But - could Danny Dyer be posher in fact, being royalty and is James Norton just nouveau riche? Jumped up as we say in English?

His Wikepedia entry, education Ampleforth, Catholic public school and first class honours from Cambridge. Quaite posh imo.

Actors can't afford to be typecast, otherwise they end up a one trick pony. James Norton was very good as Tommy Lee Royce, that was the first time I'd ever seen him in anything, no idea he was a posh boy then I'm wondering if Danny Dyer could do posh now we all know he's a Plantagenet, along with a few million others of course

Having first encountered him as Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley I have always had reservations about him

I enjoyed it, watched the two episodes back to back and beginning to understand the plot, I think.
I thought James Norton was being very beautiful and sensitive in a succession of very beautiful suits, but hope he gets given some more challenging dialogue in the forthcoming episodes.
