I confess, I am watching it. Someone phoned me Monday night and told me Anne Widdie and Rachel Johnson were in there. I think Widdie is great , met her once when she was here canvassing.

It has been women only to celebrate 100 years of women given the vote, sadly men are going in tonight.

I would hope that Big Brother issue him with a formal warning.......
He will certainly be going home tomorrow, he has really let himself down

Ailsa43 Thu 25-Jan-18 23:31:34

I can't stand Andrew...I really hope those who vote, do not vote to Save this foul mouthed, non celebrity,

i often wonder if sometimes people who should be voted out are saved by some of the voting public..who don't understand the voting system, and vote to Save rather than Evict...

DanniRae Fri 26-Jan-18 09:06:24

Er, I thought it was "Vote to save"?? Have I got it wrong? (I haven't been voting anyway - Yet!)
I HATE the word that Andrew used and I HATE the comment he made to Ashley when she was eating the sardines. Both made me CRINGE. If he was my son I would be disgusted with him - but like the previous poster said I KNOW my son would never say such things!! angry

Anniebach Fri 26-Jan-18 09:10:37

I hope he goes but wouldn't be surprised if he kept in because of his anger towards Anne , some viewers enjoy this sort of thing

Devorgilla Fri 26-Jan-18 09:58:41

I was appalled by Andrew's vitriolic attack on Ann and his use of certain words to describe her. At least the other men tried to talk him down and showed disapproval. I will be interested to see if he carries out his treat or if, when sober, he realises he has made a mega mistake. I think the girls will turn on him big time if he carries it out.
I think that particular word he used should be in the same category as the "N" word for racist language. Perhaps we need a new law for that.

Well three yobby males will be out thank goodness, and hopefully ShaneJ will be saved. At last Ann W is supporting the women. Took some time. The whole ‘year of the woman’ thing was looking a farce.
I can’t forget when Ann W was in charge of prisons how she legislated for women in labour to be handcuffed to their beds. And she had the nerve, or lack of self reflection, to get Maggie out for laughing at men having muscle contracting patches on !!
I like her boldness but she is not a thoughtful or kind person.
But good for Jess for being anti Brexit but flattering Ann whilst doing so!! Perhaps Ann will start respecting other women more and might even become a feminist.
At the end of the day she will follow the power.

Anniebach Fri 26-Jan-18 10:17:39

I doubt Anne will ever follow , she has always been her own person, doesn't do political correctness , I admired the advice she has given to some of the women , telling Rachel Johnson she was equal to her brothers etc

seacliff Fri 26-Jan-18 10:22:48

Andrew is an extremely nasty person, he was quite frightening with all that anger. Watch out any future partners! He needs to do a lot of growing up, and some self reflection (unlikely I feel).

Ann didn't say anything horrible at all about his family. She was just replying to something he said about her nomination, he said he didn't realise she'd seen the "behaviour", and she said she had, and so probably had his Mother and Grandma.

He didn't seem too upset about that at the time I noticed. I do wonder if all that outburst was put on for the camera, he has been playing the game all along. However, I do think he was really wound up, she gets under his skin.

starbird Fri 26-Jan-18 18:24:24

The trouble with Ann is that having not married or had children she is rather naive and has not had the rough edges knocked off her. I think she needs to be a bit more forgiving and broadminded. However Andrew’s reaction to her comments was uncalled for and he needs to be kicked out.

All I saw of Andrew and Shane was 2 boys rolling around on the floor fully clothed acting like preteen brothers, did I miss something?

I thought there was a wistful look on Ann’s face when she said what a nice girl Jess was to Amanda ( as if she wished she had a daughter like her).

Anniebach Fri 26-Jan-18 18:39:04

A single, childless woman is naive ? Sorry but that is rubbish

DanniRae Fri 26-Jan-18 20:29:41

I am glad I am not the only one who just saw two blokes larking about starbird! If you missed something then I did too.
I am really enjoying this series and can't wait to see who goes.

wot Fri 26-Jan-18 21:03:53

Damn cheek!! I was unable to have children but don't think that's made me naive!!

starbird Fri 26-Jan-18 22:49:44

I meant naive about family life and bringing up children, and modern norms of behaviour. Ann appears to think all parents and grandparents think the same way she does - she seems to live in a world that has long gone. Maybe she does not have nephews and nieces or friends with children. Having said that Johny demonstrated a good old fashioned attitude of respecting his elders, bless him.

wot Fri 26-Jan-18 23:59:38

Me being over sensitive....... Sorry

starbird Sat 27-Jan-18 00:56:55

I should have worded it more carefully wot sorry. Altough I like Ann she seems to be rather narrow minded. To be honest, at heart I tend to agree with her in some things, but realise that I am out of sync with modern society. Interesting that the younger women seemed to value her opinions.

Ailsa43 Sat 27-Jan-18 02:59:13

So now the vile Andrew is out and the other 2 guys...deservedly so IMO..

Now... it's time to start thinking about.. who you hope to win?

I hope it's ShaneJ..I think he's been the most entertaining..

Anniebach Sat 27-Jan-18 04:41:01

Modern norms of behaviour in there? I don't think Anne is narrow minded, she has her own standards and will not change or lower them to be liked,

Hi wot x

I don't like ShaneJ , but think he will win,

rafichagran Sat 27-Jan-18 10:33:24

I too think Shane/Courtnay will win. I think he will take the vote from two of those evicted. I liked Jonny and I think it is a shame he had gone.
I hope Ann makes the final 3 but there is still another eviction. I hope Wayne goes next, his name dropping is tedious.

grannygranby Sat 27-Jan-18 11:03:27

It takes a very brave woman in Westminster not to follow the power of the men, not to be ‘one of them’. And Ann Widdicombe wasn’t one of them. Women there were famously seen as ‘nannies grannies or fannies’ so she joined the men and followed their values. Like Thatcher.
I too can’t forget how she legislated for women in labour (childbirth, not the party smile) to be hand cuffed to their beds and I agree with Rachel she is no feminist, which she agrees she’s not! she is a misogynist.
She followed the (patriarchal) power. Now in the house she will show loyalty to the women as they are winning.
She could have done so much more for women in her days as a minister, as Maggie said, she could have stopped the child abuse but she didn’t, so please don’t get too sentimental over her. I hope to god she doesn’t win as it will just reinforce her self serving values and the unfairness of the world.
What is so great about ShaneJ is that you can see him thinking, and meditating. A wise head who possibly through being an outsider has learnt to reflect and have true compassion and forgiveness. And he will carry on learning - power to him.

Anniebach Sat 27-Jan-18 11:51:22

Maggie lied, The only position Anne held in power was Minister of State for prisons , how could she have stopped the child abuse ?

glammanana Sat 27-Jan-18 14:05:49

Annie I missed the episode with Andrew and AW and after seeing the re run of it was shocked that language such as that was used its a term which I feel should be banned from being broadcast in anyway, his apology to AW then his comment when coming back into the house calling her a --- bitch was also uncalled for total lack of respect to her or indeed anyone,so glad he has gone.
I can see *AW" being in the final so lets see what Tuesday brings in the semi final.

Anniebach Sat 27-Jan-18 14:29:29

glammanana, I don't agree with all Anne's views but to accuse her of not saving the children in Rochdale, saying she is as she is because she didn't marry or have children is unfair. She doesn't impose her beliefs on anyone , she has her beliefs as we all do, she stands by her's regardless and I admire this, she isn't playing a game , just being herself . Plus her politics has nothing to do with what goes on in there and to criticise her as not being a feminist !

I would love her to win but she hasn't a chance , she doesn't talk sex or flair up or weep in the diary room.

I hope she will reach the semi's ?

glammanana Sat 27-Jan-18 14:51:31

AnnieB you are probably right there,I never get predictions right same as I never win an argument smile

Rocknroll5me Sat 27-Jan-18 16:03:14

It is Ann Widdicome herself who says she is not a feminist. She disagrees with feminism.

Anniebach Sat 27-Jan-18 16:38:42

Aw Glammananna ?I met her once in the lead up to a general election , I was manning a stall for the Labour Party ,sporting my red rosette in the local market. Trotting to the loo I met Anne coming into the hall sporting her blue rosette, we met at the doorway, I smiled, she smiled then said - no point in me talking to you ? I said - no point at all, she laughed and said to her group - let's carry on , I was surprised how warm her smile was and how little she was , short but not thin .
