Listening to this program on Radio 4 whilst prepping my evening meal - 'shepherd's pie' - they were discussing the issues of plastic and all that is involved with packaging etc. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the major supermarkets took back empty cleaning bottles which are then sent back to the maufacturer to be refilled. This would almost be 'return and get a new one' of course in time the new one would possibly be your recycled bottle. Washing up liquid, fabric conditioners, bleach, toilet cleaners, shampoo and conditioner, all manor of products could have their bottles recycled. Or is that just too simplistic???

Also, the pump bottles for squirty soap etc. I 'cheat' and refill them using shower gel etc, but again, there's a limit.
