I`ve just watched it, and loved it as usual.

I bought the book a while ago and was very pleased when it was made into a tv drama. I think it was an experiment by the producers and they were surprised at how successful it has proved.

callgirl1 Mon 29-Jan-18 01:09:35

Rosie, there are 3 books, have you read them all?

Smithy Mon 29-Jan-18 10:03:30

The books are very good, have read 2. I love the programme it's my favourite Sunday evening viewing.
A friend of mine (1 TV in house) is "not allowed" to watch it!

nigglynellie Mon 29-Jan-18 10:20:59

Not allowed?! In this day and age! hmm Hasn't she got catchup on her computer?!!

mcem Mon 29-Jan-18 19:54:34

Why does she choose to be ' not allowed'?
Is her OH standing over her with a club, ready to drag her off by the hair?

Believe it or not, my DH loves this programme. If he can’t watch it it gets recorded and he watches episodes back to back. I find this odd as he usually watches sports/athletic programmes.

I found last weeks so depressing. I am well aware such things happen but I didn't enjoy it. Hope tonight's has a happier theme.

Can your friend not record it smithy if not the box set would make a nice gift.
A rethink on equal partnership is needed I think.

Nelliemoser Sun 11-Feb-18 21:12:43

I have come to like this. It can be a bit cheesy but they do deal with a lot of important issues .

Bellasnana Sun 11-Feb-18 21:40:52

Found tonight’s episode a bit boring.

cornergran Sun 11-Feb-18 21:48:24

I enjoyed it this evening. Maybe easily pleased smile. Good job we aren’t all the same.

Maggiemaybe Sun 11-Feb-18 22:00:15

I don't think it was the best episode of the series. I still enjoyed it though.

Bellanonna Sun 11-Feb-18 22:15:47

Trixie has been given six months’ leave. Seems excessive. Unless, of course.......?

JoyBloggs Sun 11-Feb-18 22:23:27

One of the few programmes I look forward to, but I agree with Bella, I thought tonight's episode was a bit boring. Found myself thinking it must be nearly the end when it was only just past half-way.

Bathsheba Sun 11-Feb-18 22:27:29

I enjoyed this evening's episode. The issue with Sr Monica Joan's eyesight was, I thought, very well portrayed. Her fear and the way she expressed herself, was so touching, as was the way Fred spoke with her and helped her to make the right decision.

Anniepops Sun 11-Feb-18 22:27:50

I did think Helen George had put on a little extra weight. Perhaps congratulations maybe in order.

Bathsheba Sun 11-Feb-18 22:28:20

Bellanonna I was thinking along exactly the same lines!

Bellanonna Sun 11-Feb-18 22:36:25

I think she must be!!

Greenfinch Sun 11-Feb-18 22:38:33

I saw an article about her a few weeks ago.I believe she has had a baby or is going to have one with her husband who is the vicar in the series.I hope I have got that right.

Welshwife Sun 11-Feb-18 22:41:50

She had a daughter a few months ago - her partner is the actor who plays the vicar. She talked about the problems she had towards the end of the pregnancy when they were doing publicity for the programme.
