Has anybody been watching this?

I think the original programmes gave contestants a chance of having a reasonable stab at the various tasks.

Making a teapot with a spout, handle and lid, constructing layers of a cake, and decorating it with butter cream and icing, doing a complicated tango routine - within just a few minutes - means that the majority of people achieve virtually nothing.

I did find last night's programme quite funny in places but I think it would be more satisfying if the tasks were simplified.

I do like Mel and Sue but feel they are trying a bit too hard to be funny.

Yes, it all seemed a bit too contrived.

No-one will match Brucie's presentation of the Generation Game and his asides to the camera as the sometimes hapless contestants made a hash of trying the tasks.

I think they have only made 3 episodes which could be quite enough, although DGS seemed to enjoy it - but he's only 9!

I'm not keen on Mel or Sue, so that would put me off, I think.

I used to enjoy it but agree that Bruce Forsyth was great with the contestants, and it all seemed so natural and effortless.

I still think it could be quite entertaining but it seems so overwrought at the moment. I doubt it will get another chance to shine after this series.

Do you think maybe we were more easily pleased a few years back?
Light entertainment has come a long way. We have to watch people eating pigs gonads these days, or having a nervous breakdown in a house full of narcissists, to be entertained!

It was dire imo! I love Mel and Sue and hope they see the light and refuse to have anything else to do with it.

I watched the first one but thought it was dire! Bruce Forsyth had a way with the contestants which Mel and Sue do not, especially in the final 'drama'. I shall not be watching again.

We didn't know that there was a new Generation Game programme, until we saw a snippet on Gogglebox. it was awful.

Not my scene. I never could abide Bruce Forsyth. All his silly posturing and catch phrases at which we are supposed laugh uprorously.
I'm a grumpy old beggar today.

I never watched it, but I gather Bruce Forsyth made it his own. Whilst I appreciate he's not everyone's cup of tea, I think in some contexts he could ad lib very well. I don't like Mel and Sue as a comedy pairing, I think they can be okay ish individually, but way too much reliance on innuendo, quite honestly I just don't find them funny, a very mediocre double act imo.

think its past its sell by date,they must have resurrected it becauuse they've run out of ideas..and seemingly talent to host it too.Wont be watching again .
