If you did not see it the film ‘Changeling ‘ is excellent. Angelina Jolie - who I must admit I was never keen on - was very good. A true story about young lads who went missing in a particular part of - I think- Los Angeles - a local policemen eventually, after many years, managed to find out what happened to them.

I think this thread was a great idea too.

I don't have netflix but usually find something enjoyable. One film I'm keen to see when it finally hits TV is that one with Meryl Streep as the awful singer - senior moment, can't remember her name.
I agree about the Durrells. I wasn't keen to begin with but really look forward to it now.

I'm also revisiting Death in Paradise, season 1 with Ben Miller as I've forgotten what they were about.
The Tick on Amazon Prime is fun too!!

NanKate, this thread is a great idea. Thanks!

I started watching The Santa Clarita Diet on Netflix last night. It's a comedy with Drew Barrymore as a suburban housewife/real estate dealer who turns into zombie ? overnight. I've only watched the first episode, so I'll reserve judgement, but it started promisingly.
I like some pure escapism. DH watches all the factual stuff.

Ooh thanks for that Merlotgran. I have recorded Escape to the Chateau, but thought it might just contain outtakes from the other programme. I shall enjoy watching.

I've mentioned these programmes on other threads but I'll say it again. They are all brilliant entertainment.
'Grace + Frankie' on Netflix. Jane Fonda,Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen.
'Queer Eye' on Netflix. A group of 5 young men who will remind you their are lovely people in the world.
'This Country' on BBC iPlayer. Mockumentary about the Cotswolds done supremely well + v funny.
Hope you enjoy!!

Thanks for these suggestions. When I come back from a few days holiday in the beautiful Purbecks next week, I will sign up for Netflix. I am quite excited to get it as so many of you recommend series from there.

The rain keeps driving us indoors during the day so I was happy to settle down with a cuppa and watch the new Escape to the Chateau yesterday with Dick and Angel Strawbridge.

This time they're 'helping/advising' other Brits who fancy some castle type DIY hmm

A bit more interesting than your average DIY programme.

It seems to me many of us like personal recommendations for TV series etc such as the recent Keeping Faith. So I am starting here a thread for us to post things we have enjoyed so that other GN members can sample them too.

I am really enjoying on ITV the Durrells at present, light hearted, warm sunshine and an easy watch.

Please add what station or app it is on eg Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC 1. Thanks.

Over to you.
