I did quite like it when I first saw it, but the novelty has worn off now.

I watched Diane Morgan as Philomena Cunk for the first time recently and was laughing aloud. I haven't seen the trailer though.

Judging by the opinions offered, following my OP, it seems that the trailer is doing the programme itself no favours. Could it be that spoofs are becoming out-dated, after the success of Mrs Merton, Ali G, Alan Partridge et al?

www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2018-04-10/cunk-on-britain-philomena-cunk-diane-morgan/ explains a bit more.

I saw the trailer and felt just the same as you anno.

Of course, Pittcity. If I were due to be interviewed by Philomena Cunk, I wouldn't expect that it was for a serious documentary!

I think the programme's very funny. I never see trailers because we always fast forward through the adverts these days. I find it hard to believe the experts aren't in on the joke, though.

Yes midgey, but a lot of them have seen the show and so it doesn't surprise all the time any more.

I understand that the experts are unaware that Philomena Cunk is a spoof, similar idea to Ali G. Not sure that I think that is altogether fair!

Pittcity I like it too ?

I love Philomena Cunk. She was part of Charlie Brooker's Screen Wipe and has had many "Cunk on...." programmes. It is a spoof documentary with real experts....I don't know how they keep a straight face.
There are a lot of programmes advertised on TV that I don't like.....I guess the world would be very boring if we all liked the same thing.

Anno I watched a bit of it without having seen a trailer - just out of curiosity due to the funny title. It is absolutely dreadful. I can't think why anyone would have commissioned it. Awful.

There is a dreadful trailer for a BBC2 programme called Cunk on Britain - apparently a 'comedy' show. In my opinion, this cringe-worthy (and too often repeated) trailer is more likely to put viewers off watching the programme. It has certainly deterred me! Has anyone actually watched it?
