I am surprised to find that I am enjoying this short run of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? with Jeremy in charge. His sense of humour fits well, often directed at his own lack of knowledge as 'ask the host' is a new extra lifeline category. Anyone else watching, and what do you think?
I think it is a good choice having Clarkson and I shall continue to watch .
I never disliked him on Top Gear to be honest but I share the same type of tongue in cheek humour and never found him upsetting in the first place. That's not to say I agree with all he says or does as he is a mere human being.
Clarkson made a really good t.v programme a while back called ' The Victoria Cross: For Valour ' and it is well worth a watch if it is on 'Catch Up ' or repeated .
I really enjoyed it and watched every episode this week. Like a previous poster the only reason we signed up for Amazon tv was to watch The Grand Tour and loved it. (Could not stand Chris Evans on Top Gear). Would like to see a new series of Millionaire with Clarkson.
I really like him, love his dry wit and caustic sense of humour, plus his political incorrectness. He was perfect as host for Millionaire, so I hope they bring it back with him in the chair. But please vet the contestants to ensure they have a better general knowledge than the ones we had this time!
I have put on here that I gave up on Jezza after 10 minutes of watching but having read the comments on here I gave the programme another go and enjoyed it. I think he had calmed himself down and settled into the role - so a new series of "Who wants to be a Millionaire" please with Mr Clarkson!! Thank you
Another one here who wouldn't have given Jeremy Clarkson the time of day but, he's been a bit of a guilty pleasure. I will certainly miss him this week
Jeramy Clarkson is the only reason I signed up to Amazon prime so that I could watch the grand tour. The best top gear episode was the motorbike one in Vietnam. One of the funniest 'films' you will ever see. It's on YouTube.
I know I shouldn't take a dislike to anyone. But I have, and am afraid Jeremy Clarkson is the one. Will not have his face in my living room for any reason whatsoever. Sorry Jeremy.
Oryx! Of course. I've even seen them in the wild. I really felt that Jeremy added something to this show. I don't think I'd have watched it otherwise. Hope he returns to it soon. I think a week of specials is better than a long series. Long boring summer of boring sport coming up. We could do with the occasional good programme.
No Jane, Ilex is Holly, but there is an African antelope called an Oryx, so not too far away from Ibex (which I think is known as a Big Horn in the USA. ) I have to say, that while I haven't been a big fan of Jeremy in the past, I think he's been excellent as the host of WWTBAM, I have a sneaking admiration for his rebelliousness, and the two finger salute to officialdom. Such a shame that most of the contestants have been so dim, at least the last guy managed to win a goodly sum!
I did find his comments on the tv adverts amusing . I hope the programme will be brought back with Clarkson as host. Perhaps they will if the viewing figures were good. The one off week could have been arranged to test the viewing figures.
I'm a big fan of Jezza and could watch him read the telephone directory. And I think he has been great on WWTBAM. I loved Top Gear (still like the new one with Matt Le Blanc) and now love The Grand Tour which is great with the three old petrol heads. One reason why I like Jeremy so much? Because he rebels against being politically correct. And he's a natural broadcaster with a great voice. Long Live Jeremy.
I'm so pleased the last contestant walked away with £64K and that he was my neck of the woods in Liverpool. I hope they bring the show back with JC comparing it.
I like him, and particularly in this new Millionaire.
I love the fact that he refuses to adhere to the ridiculous political correctness which seems to infect everyone these days. He has got a brilliant sense of humour - who remembers the Falklands car number plate incident?
I remember the programme makers explaining way back that they wanted the quiz to appeal to families and had pitched the first few questions to appeal to children. I suppose it must have aired earlier in the day back then.
I've always enjoyed Top Gear and thought the three presenters a good team. I watched it lots because my sons are 'petrol heads'.
I quite like Clarkson's humour. I find him droll. I don't share some of his views though. I always thought WWTBAM one of the best quiz shows on TV. It's a shame about all the advert breaks and must admit the first five dead easy questions annoy me a bit. Clarkson seems to be hosting it well.
