I am surprised to find that I am enjoying this short run of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? with Jeremy in charge. His sense of humour fits well, often directed at his own lack of knowledge as 'ask the host' is a new extra lifeline category.
Anyone else watching, and what do you think?

Anniebach Tue 08-May-18 17:24:16

I am no fan of his but think he is doing well in this

Bridgeit Tue 08-May-18 17:30:10

Yes I am also pleasantly surprised at the new format, and also with Jeremy Clarkson.

Craicon Tue 08-May-18 17:38:36

Nope, can’t stand him so I won’t bother watching it.

Jane10 Tue 08-May-18 17:40:32

It's remarkably compulsive. I like his dry sense of humour.

Shirleyw Tue 08-May-18 17:44:11

Yes, i too am surprised how well he is doing....he is very witty and gets on with it...

Megram Tue 08-May-18 18:47:05

I'm not a fan of his, but yes, I think he's doing a good job. I prefer him to Chris Tarrant.

Can’t bear to even see his face so won’t be watching

glammanana Tue 08-May-18 19:01:03

I'm enjoying it tbh,its the best thing on TV at the moment.

Bathsheba Tue 08-May-18 19:04:30

Oh, I didn’t even know about this! I shall have to find it on catch-up.

DanniRae Tue 08-May-18 21:54:10

No, didn't enjoy watching him. I turned off after about ten minutes.

Bridgeit Tue 08-May-18 22:00:01

I absolutely could not bear to watch him on the toys for boys programme, but he does come across ok on this programme I think.

lemongrove Tue 08-May-18 22:11:27

I did watch this the other night and was surprised to see Clarkson helping a contestant with an answer ( how many sides does the Stop Sign have) have never seen that happen before.

Deedaa Tue 08-May-18 22:29:45

DH stopped watching because Jezza was too touchy feely. Not something I would have expected to hear about him!

OldMeg Tue 08-May-18 22:49:03

lemongrove that’s a new ‘lifeline’ - you can ask the host ie Clarkson (just once). Not much use though he’s pretty thick. .

He's written about it in the Sunday Times this week.
I agree he's pretty repulsive in car programmes, but he writes very good articles on other topics.

Well I didn't expect to like it as I never was a fan when Chris Tarrant hosted it but... Surprise surprise I really enjoy it. Well done Jeremy I say.

callgirl1 Wed 09-May-18 18:15:04

Can`t stand him as a rule, but I must admit to being pleasantly surprised with this programme.

Blinko Wed 09-May-18 18:38:41

He comes across as personable and amusing on Millionaire. I'm surprised to find I quite like the programme.

nanaK54 Wed 09-May-18 18:51:34

We happened to be passing the ITV studios at Salford Quays when this programme was about to be filmed and there were men at the door desperately trying to get people in to join the audience, only to be told "can't stand Jeremy Clarkson". When you consider how many folk seem to want to be on tv, even in an audience, it was surprising that the men at the door were having such a hard time filling the seats

Jane10 Thu 10-May-18 11:31:38

People would be on their way somewhere and not expecting to be suddenly involved for several hours unexpectedly. It's not surprising that they couldn't just change their plans like that.

glammanana Thu 10-May-18 11:59:13

Does anyone think the questions are so easy this time around ?

varian Thu 10-May-18 12:01:19

True Jane, but they could have just said they were busy, not "can't stand Jeremy Clarkson"

Clarkson seems to be a bit of a marmite character, like the other JC, Jeremy Corbyn. He definitely divides opinion.

Is this ‘one off week’ a trial run and if it draws viewers will be brought back.
