I enjoyed it but as others have said Nicola Walker seems to be the same in most of her roles I think Last Tango was probably the exception. There is a new series of Unforgotten starting soon where Nicola stars with Sanjeev Bhaskar, I liked the last series of that.
I quite enjoyed it but wasn't massively impressed. I agree that Nicola Walker seems now to have the same mannerisms and expressions for all the roles she takes on. I am beginning to think she is rather over exposed.
I realise that the last episode set the scene for a further series but I didn't really like the ending. I felt sorry for her husband.
How many Londoners actually spend their time walking back and forth over London bridges in the middle of the night? Surely a high powered lawyer could afford a taxi?
I sort of enjoyed this, and the family dynamics, and think the mother is superb, but Nicola Walker doesn't seem to vary her misery and delivery style (as you've said Dontaskme and gets a bit tedious. She did actually smile during the after wedding party tho! All set for next series which it wouldn't have been if she stayed with husband - so more of the same........
The whole series dragged a bit but that didn't stop me watching so couldn't have been that bad! Too right she should go to Christie - have you seen him??? Also her DH said he didn't meet anyone, then said he'd just had dinner with someone, then said it was just sex, so she needs to ditch him for sure. Nicola Walker has one expression it seems - hang-dog, and one way of speaking - monotone. Will I watch the next series? Of course!
There is another thread on this where several of us despaired of Nicola Walker and her over expression but were sort of enjoying the story. I just felt the final episode was interminable and although of course its fiction for me it had very little relation to reality and therefore was incredible. I couldn't wait for it to end - long and drawn out to the inevitable conclusion for me.
We got quite caught up in the last two episodes, and I was sad that she seemed to have chosen Christie. Also loved the strong family dynamics. Great choice of actors. Hope there may be a second series. I felt quite rung out at the end.
I really enjoyed it.Far more than I initially thought .Loved the dynamics between the sisters, and made me a little teary in the wedding scenes.Probably because I've 3 DDs.
