Film recommendations

A couple of gentle films I've way are Julie and Julia, and Today's Special. Both about cooking. I think they are still available on Netflix.
I really enjoyed an Adam Sandler film called The Cobbler too, it's a sort of fantasy crime comedy, and if you want a really good laugh try The Do Over, Adam Sandler again, but really funny.

Oh yes. littleflo, I've seen that one too and enjoyed it. A 'feelgood' film albeit set in wartime. If you haven't already seen 'Sunshine on Leith', do try to find it. I have seen it twice and would watch it again.

Thank you for those suggestions. Currently I am addicted to Weeds on Netflix. It is a bit of a guilty pleasure as the moralist in me tells me not to watch it.

Watched Tom Hanks in Hologram for the/a King. Easy watch and enjoyed it.

Going back to Their Finest, wasn’t our book of the month from GN “Their Finest Hour and a Half” or something similar a year or two back?
For a thoroughly pleasant film “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society “ takes some beating.
Maxine Peake in “Funny Cow” is riveting, a challenging film but unforgettable.

Esio Trot and The Purple Roae of Cairo are both lovely, gentle films; don't know if they are on Netflix...
