jalima It's not you. I've only seen the adverts for it: tripe describes it perfectly. It reminds me of the awful bad acting/ dialogue you see on Spanish tv. The very serious subject of the kidnapped girls deserves better than this.
I just feel that the kidnapping of the Nigerian schoolgirls, which I found traumatic when it was reported, is not a subject which should be used as entertainment like this.
It's fiction folks, I do think Keegan is too glamorous and loves herself a bit too much. I agree with Cold Lacy Turner was much more believable. Having said all that I shall continue to watch it. I enjoy drama series and am not as critical as maybe I should be.
We watched the last series and saw last week's - it's very good but we do keep asking if it would happen in real life! Haven't seen the first series which was a different actress - I can't remember who it was. Keep forgetting it's on as it's BBC which we don't often watch.
DH was watching it so I was trying to concentrate on something else whilst it was on.
Yes, I half-watched it and yes, she should be court-martialled and that should be the end of it! No more of this rubbish please, which does such a disservice to the terrible happenings regarding the stolen schoolgirls and conditions over there. The BBC should be ashamed to show this tripe.
I did like the original actress a bit more though (Lacy Turner who played Molly Dawes) - I though she was more realistic. The original TV movie was good as well.
Well it was gripping and I do admire her ability to keep her mascara and lipstick in tact through extreme adversity perhaps ease up on the lip fillers though.
That’s how Our Girl is, Georgie goes off on a tangent everyone’s put in danger and then it all turns out ok in the end. More fiction than fact but having said that I really enjoy it.
Anyone else watching this series about a woman and her colleagues in the British Army today. I know its fiction but I was surprised that she disobeyed orders led her colleagues into danger i.e. being captured by Boko Hara (not sure how to spell that) a rescue mission was launched (wouldnt they have been slaughtered) putting other lives at stake and she wasn't put on a charge. I don't know anything about the army other that what family members have told me but I would have thought that at least there would be some discipline.
