I agree with you Telly. The interesting point of this program is how many of these patients have such trivial problems and are wasting the doctor's time.

I could not believe the time wasters when I turned in to watch it once so I watched it a few times and it was the same. With the state the nhs is in and how gp appointments are so tricky to get hold of they should stop this time wasting but how I don't know. Maybe a beeper goes off to highlight end of appointment (pressed by gp) as some genuine cases need a little longer .

I'm always amazed at the services the patients are offered.
"Oh you've got a hangnail" we'll get someone to look at that.
I know that's a bit ott, but sometimes the Drs are a bit ott.

Husband is GP partner.

He did watch a couple of episodes and confirmed most of his daily appointments are of this nature.

It's a universal service and absolutely everyone has the right to see their GP for whatever ails them, but if you're ever wondering why your doctor seems to be so busy...

Agree with all of the above - but do find the programme intriguing. The GPs themselves are a joy to behold and I admire their patience and respectful behaviour - and in any event I find people endlessly fascinating.

The link between social deprivation and illness is amply illustrated. I am married to an ex-GP and he used to come back from surgery and say that I would have been better equipped to deal with the patients - I was a SW!

And I agree that I would not want a camera recording me being examined; and then beaming it to the nation - as if they would be remotely interested!
