A Family At War

I remember it Annie! I loved it - I was pregnant with my first daughter and I would get into my pjs to be comfortable and then settle down to watch it.
What a very happy memory!!

I vaguely remember it.
Was it set in the NE?

She left acting I believe and opened and ran a home for disadvantaged children.

Oh, yes. I remember it and would love to see it again. I priced up the DVD set once but it was horrendously expensive so couldn’t bring myself to buy it.

I remember it very well. It was so good.

Coral Atkins certainly seemed like a lovely person. I remember reading about her years ago in one of the Sunday supplements. She had been to a children's home (I suppose in her capacity as a "celebrity" visitor) when she heard a child sobbing its heart out under the table. None of the staff seemed concerned, saying it was a regular occurrence and nothing to worry about. I believe CA comforted the child and decided from that moment onwards that she would buy a property and fill it with children who needed love and understanding. I was so moved by that story.

Sadly, I seem to recall that she died a few years ago but what an amazing story and an amazing woman.

I loved that serial. Was it set in Liverpool?
