Alan Longmuir RIP

I was another Roller fan cherrytree . I also saw Les Mckeown’s Bay city Rollers in later years but sadly not when I was a teenager as I was not allowed . My friends brother in law was a bouncer for them and could get us in pretty much anywhere . My dad saw the “ roller mania” on TV snd forbid me from going . Can’t believe I wore the half mast pants trimmed with tartan and a scarves tied as a belt and around my wrist.

I was never a BCR fan, but knew many who were.
When tartan mania hit, DM was a teacher of deaf children, who, although many were profoundly deaf 'heard' music by standing in front of a loudspeaker and feeling the rhythm.
This has brought back memories of attending discos where I was often the only teenager who didn't have a hearing impairment, they were good times!
One girl I remember in particular was Bay City Rollers mad, but as she was profoundly deaf, her approximation of their name was "Bayseeolie". I can picture her now, bopping about in her tartan trimmed trousers and boots, blonde hair streaming behind her, 'singing' along, laughing and having the time of her life. They were indeed very good times!

Gilly my dad thought the Rollers 'get up' was hysterical.
He often commented with a "Surely your not going outside dressed like that!

Juggernaut That's lovely to hear about your DM and her children.

Although my own father was profoundly deaf, he was a wonderful dancer.
From a Quick-Step to Jive he had girls and 'my Mum' queuing up to dance with him.
As you say feeling the beat - in my Dads case through the dance floor.
