Well, we have to have a thread each season don't we! grin

Katie Piper was announced on Breakfast this morning. I am full of admiration for her and can't wait to see how she gets on.

Being not bring

TwiceAsNice Sun 25-Nov-18 22:29:56

I think Ashley was amazed to be in the dance off. I thought Lauren and Graeme probably deserved to be . I do like Graeme but he did do that big trip in his routine, poor man. I think Lauren was lucky to stay in I think she had reached her limit now. With Ashley in the dance off poor Graeme had no chance. I think Ashley is a bit complacent though perhaps bring under the red light will make her think she cant assume she'll always be ok

ginny Sun 25-Nov-18 22:15:41

How could Ashley be in the dance off ? Lauren has done well but there is no way her dancing is up to the standard of the rest. Next week she should go or we’ll be missing out on some really good dances.

TerriBull Sun 25-Nov-18 21:13:40

Like everyone else I thought Stacey, with Kevin was an absolute winner on Saturday. Surprised to see Ashley in the Dance Off given how good she is, perhaps a bit too professional rather than an absolute beginner though which may well prove to be her downfall. Rod Stewart was awful, his voice, which I loved once, has disappeared, so should he. Can't believe I liked him back in the 70s, queued for hours to see him when he was with The Faces at a venue called "The Rainbow" in Finsbury Park.

mcem Sun 25-Nov-18 20:54:56

I think that was absolutely true but it didn't appeal to me at all. Too maudlin!
I used to be a big fan and cooking on Christmas day was always done to the music of Rod Stewart or Status Quo!

kittylester Sun 25-Nov-18 20:51:01

I heard Rod Stewart say he wrote that song after the death of a friend. I think he is fab.

mcem Sun 25-Nov-18 20:43:52

Agree pamela.
I felt that the song was a miserable dirge but wondered if he was aiming at the funeral music market.
Maybe trying to take over from Frank Sinatra's My Way?

PamelaJ1 Sun 25-Nov-18 20:28:11

I am firmly of the opinion that old pop stars should hang up their microphones.
I’ve always quite liked Sir Rod but dearie me.
He and Sir Paul should just go out for a quiet drink.

callgirl1 Sun 25-Nov-18 20:21:55

After tonight`s dance off, I`d love to see Ashley and Faye in the dance off next week, that WOULD be interesting!

Sparklefizz Sun 25-Nov-18 14:22:48

DanniRae You used the word "entranced" and I agree. I couldn't take my eyes off them. Some people's dancing is electric and dramatic, and S & K's is definitely that!

merlotgran Sun 25-Nov-18 14:22:13

I thought Stacey and Kevin's dance was fantastic but a bit spoiled by the terrible music. Normally Dave Arch's arrangements are very good but that one was just a racket.

DanniRae Sun 25-Nov-18 14:12:34

I agree Sparklefizz about Stacy and Kevin's dance. I was totally entranced by it. It definitely should have got 4 x 10's!! She is my favourite and everyone else's, as far as I can tell.

Sparklefizz Sun 25-Nov-18 13:08:01

Anyone think Stacey and Kevin's dance was absolutely knock-'em-dead fantastic last night?? For a non-dancer she is amazing, and I hope she wins. For some reason I don't like Ashley, and anyway, she has had performing experience before, like Faye. I like Stacey and Joe because they have started from scratch.

callgirl1 Mon 12-Nov-18 23:28:16

I see that Danny decided not to appear on It Takes Two tonight. Sour grapes?

annodomini Mon 12-Nov-18 23:02:32

I hope that Stacey and Kevin will win and I suspect that they are getting a lot of public support. She is a first rate investigative reporter and on Friday night the Children in Need programme will include an item by her on homeless youg people. She may have started as a non-dancer but she's certainly a dancer now- thanks to Kevin.

sodapop Mon 12-Nov-18 20:47:41

Tedious, irritating and well past its sell by date.
Katie Piper is a brave and resourceful young woman but as for the others, ...........

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Nov-18 17:56:05

I totally agree callgirl

callgirl1 Mon 12-Nov-18 17:47:41

Maybe Ashley or Fay won`t win after all, remember how everyone was convinced that Debbie McGee, a former dancer, had it in the bag? I`d like to see Stacey, Joe, Lauren and Charles in the final show, all previously non dancers, how can they all be judged on how they``ve improved during the show when some start off completely proficient? Take it back to how it originally began, as a show for non dancers to learn how to dance.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Nov-18 16:50:55

eazybee Danny has performance training and has often told us that he is an "entertainer", though, and Kate and Lauren don't, so they have had to start from scratch.

eazybee Mon 12-Nov-18 16:45:56

I am sorry Danny went; he was an extremely good dancer with excellent posture, correct placement and extension, and good performance. (rotten timing, though). He could also perform.
The two who should go are Kate Silverton and Lauren; both nice women, hard workers, learn their routines, but neither is a dancer . This is supposed to be a competition about dancing: strictly dancing

Deedaa Mon 12-Nov-18 14:47:13

I really like Stacey. I came across one of her programmes by accident and loved her personality. Lovely to see her danciñg so well.

DanniRae Mon 12-Nov-18 13:40:32

I really like Joe and Stacey for the same reason - they haven't danced before.
I am glad Danny has gone - I didn't like him from the start.
But I am LOVING "Strictly", as always, and really looking forward to Blackpool grin

TwiceAsNice Mon 12-Nov-18 13:05:06

Glad Danny went because I was really cross to think he could be mean to Amy who is so genuine. The biggest travesty is that Joe Suggs gets to stay in every week when his dancing is getting worse not better. The judges are so gushing of him whatever he does. Our family think it's fixed that he stays in because his blog has such a teenage following but I think it's a great shame if that's true, but I'm thinking it probably is.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Nov-18 11:36:28

I hope Stacey wins because she has never danced before, been in a pop group etc so trying to act the part as well as dance is all new to her. I suspect Ashley Roberts might win, though, and her dancing is sublime.

I'm glad Danny was voted out last night. He always danced so stiffly like he had a broomstick up his ....... and I know he's had a bad press recently but anyone could see that he had an insincere and snappy side to him right from the start. I wasn't at all surprised to hear that he had been unpleasant to Amy, and his little speech last night when he was voted off was sugar-coated and not at all genuine. Yuk!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 12-Nov-18 09:56:36

I am another avid Strictly fan ??Definitely the correct decision to let Danny go.

My favourite couple is Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton, although I do not think they will win, probably either Faye Towser (steps) or Ashley Roberts (Pussy cat dolls) will lift the glitter ball this year.
