Excellent start to this new series ,brilliant edge of the seat scenes on the train.I've never come across this actor before but he is very believable.I'm looking forward to tomorrows instalment.I suppose it should have been expected that it was good as its from the people who made Line of Duty ,one of my favourite series'
Gripping stuff, but rather obvious racial stereotyping. The villains were all white; the explosives geek was Oriental; the Detective Setgeant who was ruled by her heart rather than her head was Afro-Caribbean; the intelligent and sensible Detective Inspector was Asian.
Meanwhile, in a secret clinic off Harley Street, the great-great-great-grandson of Count Frankenstein is reconstructing the Home Secretary..... Watch this space.
We thought it was very tense but answered all the questions. Didn't see it coming that it was the police woman who was corrupt. A very enjoyable series, well acted and very topical.
Nail-biting stuff! Didn’t quite see that coming but thought the senior policewoman dodgy earlier on. (So glad it wasn’t Gina McKee !) Great series if cheesy ending!
Grumppa, Your “racial stereotyping” is however the opposite of what might have been expected- especially the soi-disant “poor downtrodden Muslim woman”
Unusually happy ending after a tying up loose ends and answering questions. Very satisfying that Mercurio took the story full circle with the confession from Nadia who started the whole tale. I can't be the only one who, for just a few moments, wondered if the car would explode in those last seconds!
kitty we also wondered who was looking out of the window of the boss cop's house/flat, she even glanced up at the woman (it looked like a woman).
For me, given that Nadia was a master bomb builder and a tough Jihadi, why did she not blow up the train in the beginning? Also, no way would she have "sung like a canary"...
Was it only me who had their OH shout BOOM as David was defusing the vest? Completely ruined the atmosphere-made me flinch and drop my bag of pork scratchings ?
We were both gripped. DH definitely thought there would be a last minute explosion. So glad there wasn’t. Can anyone explain why they dug up the compramat when we saw him put it in the boiler? Did I blink and miss it?
Very enjoyable finale. I thought the car may blow up at the end mcem no idea who the person at the window was either. Maybe there will be another series.
It was very gripping, but when it all came together it looked a little clunky. I couldn’t believe they would let him defuse his own bomb!! Or that he could get the vest off so quickly and jump over a wall! I saw the face at the window, and my money is on the female police officer! Look in for the next exciting episode.....
There might have been the odd moment or two which was a little far-fetched, nevertheless I found it utterly compelling, gripping, exciting, well written and acted, altogether marvellous drama which literally had me on the edge of my seat. I hope there is a second series.
The bomb-maker turning out to be the downtrodden Muslim woman was the exception that proved my rule!
Even with an extra fifteen minutes, the unravelling of the plot threads was clunky and the motivations unexplained and unbelievable. And the happy ending felt tacked on from a totally different genre.
It was a it far fetched in bits but loved it to the end. The only thing which really annoyed me because of my job was when he went to see the counsellor 1, she wouldn't sit with a desk between them and 2 It wouldn't be Occ health it would be a specialist in trauma and PTSD. I'm fed up about therapists being misrepresented on television
