Excellent start to this new series ,brilliant edge of the seat scenes on the train.I've never come across this actor before but he is very believable.I'm looking forward to tomorrows instalment.I suppose it should have been expected that it was good as its from the people who made Line of Duty ,one of my favourite series'

Mankind is generally recognised to mean human beings. At least, that's how I always interpreted it. My point is that to use a male term to include females (eg actors ) is sometimes promoted and sometimes seen as sexist eg mankind. It's the inconsistency that annoys me.
Anyway should have put this elsewhere as off the thread topic!

Thanks to PECS and trisher for commenting positively about the use of the word actor.
That’s what the acting profession use ??

Jalima1108 Tue 11-Sept-18 13:18:23

That's where I've sen him before - in Motherland!

Oh, I will look on him in a new light now grin.
(Yes, I do know he's acting)

The Radio Times believes she's dead!

The cover of next week's issue features the face of 'the Home Secretary' and the caption Why She Had to Die, by Jed Mercurio. I imagine anyone watching the series on catchup will be pretty peeved!

trisher Thu 13-Sept-18 19:37:58

I've just had a thought you don't think DC Budd is behind everything do you? Even the woman on the train. Is that why he was so sure she wouldn't blow the train up?

Jalima1108 Thu 13-Sept-18 19:42:39

It could be the twist - but I think it wouldn't be enough of a twist trisher.
hmm

Looking forward to later ? ?

Brunette10 Sun 16-Sept-18 19:39:24

Can’t wait for 9 o clock. Wishing my life away.

Nana3 Sun 16-Sept-18 20:02:20

I've just caught up with episode 4, the policewoman and the acting home secretary are in cahoots. They seem very dodgy. Also the attack on David's children's school was never explained was it? Can't have been just coincidence. Episode 5 tonight, don't want anything bad to happen to David.

Lazigirl Mon 17-Sept-18 18:22:33

Ha Ha. David Budd gave his mobile number to the ex PA at the end of last episode and apparently members of the public have been trying to ring it - with surprise surprise no response grin

PECS Mon 17-Sept-18 20:38:22

Really the security services or any dodgy folk on the hunt for evidence hidden in Julia's apartment did not check the back of a photo?? OR is it a double bluff Dun dun duuuun!

humptydumpty Mon 17-Sept-18 21:25:58

Back of the photo? I missed that!!!

PECS Mon 17-Sept-18 21:36:55

David found something in the frame behind the photo of Julia with David Cameron! Maybe the encrypted stuff??

Iam64 Mon 17-Sept-18 22:02:15

Mr iam said David found her tablet/ipad behind the photograph. Like PECS I found it inconceivable the security services and or police wouldn't have searched the apartment to within an inch of its life.
Good though isn't it.

PECS Mon 17-Sept-18 22:49:03

Yes..I am secretly enjoying it...do not usually admit to liking thrillers.. though saw a brilliant French film last week Jusqu'a la Garde (Custody) ..which made me hold my breath for ages!

humptydumpty Tue 18-Sept-18 21:24:07

Realised I didn't know about the picture because I hadn't finished watching the episode! I think it was the tablet behind the picture but if so must have added some unexpected weight surely...

Riverwalk Wed 19-Sept-18 16:07:44

Now, how come if Budd's ex-wife and kids are in a safe house why is Mrs B roaming around at work in the hospital without protection?

And for goodness sake, Budd and the other chap need to take off the steri-strips - we know they've been involved in an explosion!

At last, he's been put on sick leave after all the traumatic events he's been through.

All good stuff.

ninathenana Wed 19-Sept-18 17:39:00

Good point Riverwalk I hadn't even thought about his wife working.
(I thought they were seperated not actually divorced ??)

Iam64 Wed 19-Sept-18 19:06:19

Riverwalk, I'm not sure "roaming about the hospital" is entirely fair (if fairly accurate). She's at work. there are CCTV cameras everywhere, along with hospital security staff, there may also be police/MI5 type security watching her. The idea of protection in these circumstances is its to enable the person to live as normal a life as possible. I know......

My significant question is Who is her boyfriend, where is he, has he been security checked?!

Why is Keeley Hawes so thin? I don't wish to be unpleasant, I'm relieved I'm not a famous female actor because the pressure seems to be to be ultra skinny. In fact, that's one of the reasons I admire Sarah Lancashire, she can act and she's more the kind of size n shape of other women of her age. Apologies for this digression and especially apologies to Keeley Hawes for such a person comment. she is such a brilliant actor.

Caledonai14 Sun 23-Sept-18 18:14:09

Will we get the answer to all these questions tonight? And will I understand the confusing bits or will I have to read some reviews to find out what I was missing? Sunday nights have been much more interesting and I hope it's not one of those endings which leaves you guessing.

Cherrytree59 Sun 23-Sept-18 21:16:24

Ooh eckshock

Cherrytree59 Sun 23-Sept-18 22:18:45

Ahh nice ending?

makes a change

paddyann Sun 23-Sept-18 22:20:16

Very improbable but very entertaianing.I did enjoy the final episode even though I watched some of it through my fingers ..lol.This leaves the chance of a second series. He's a great character so I'd certainly watch it .

Alima Sun 23-Sept-18 22:20:46

Yes, a sweet ending but what a cop out. All in all a pretty boring episode.

Kittye Sun 23-Sept-18 22:21:32

Who'd a thowt it?? ?
