I love Bake Off and Extra Slice. What's not to like? Food, fun and great characters. Wasn't that an amazing spherical chocolate thing last night!
But it's a salivating challenge as I'm not allowed to eat cake at the moment. (pre-diabetic).

I love bake off!
I don't watch much tv and love it when this is on . I loved sewing bee too but that did not last long.
Nowadays though half the things they bake I've never even heard of . The one thing I always thought too fussy to make was an opera cake ..so many different layers but I bet it's yummy.
Not watched last night's yet.

I don't know why but I can't raise much enthusiasm over this latest series. I've given up on Extra Slice as it's too drawn out now and seems to have lost the edgy wit it used to have.

I think Noel is much more natural and funny in this series. Perhaps he is not so nervous.
Liking the competitors as usual. In the first series or two I used to think that I would be able to make most of their bakes because I had already made them, but as the programme has progressed to unknown recipes I know that I would make a mess of some of them.

I like this show because the competitors always seem genuine and supportive of each other. I not over keen on Dan, he seems much more competitive than the others.

Noel never seems very relaxed, almost as if he is not sure what his role should be. I hate that bot at the beginning because it seems so false. I loved Mel and Sue and their opening routine was funny .

Noel Fielding is lovely! He's so splendidly daft. He's very popular with a younger demographic (and me!) Obviously the producers wanted to draw in the widest possible viewing audience. It seems to me that they've done well.
Extra slice is great fun too. I love that acerbic Tom Allan. He certainly cuts through any sugariness!

I must admit I m not an avid fan I pop in and out when there’s nothing else on They make such ridiculous things they are so huge and over the top, those gooey chocolate things within things made me think of a drag queens hat, got to say they re clever though
The thing that I find strange is why they need/ have four presenters I think that Noel (who I ve never heard of before) seems so personality- less and although I know a lot of people like Sandy she too seems surplus
I don’t like chocolate much so I wasn’t tempted st all

I had Aldi's kir meringue roulade a week or two ago but it was unbearably sweet.
M n S have some too which are less sweet.
Not being a snacker at all, I don't feel tempted to eat as I watch!

I was amazed at the chocolate domes, has anyone had one? I didn't even know they were a thing!

Watched it with a deaf old aunt , who kept asking 'Who's he?' whenever Noel came on. ( sigh ). Just loved those chocolate domes. Could have eaten every one.

How did you know what they'd be making Pittcity? Even your raspberry ties in with the blancmange - well chosen! Yes paddyann, I also think the characters this year are great. They seem very supportive of each other and look like they're having fun.

We have a rasperry meringue dessert from Lidl so we can eat along.
I love Rahul. Can I adopt him?

I love roulades! They look amazing. My money's on Jon at the moment but the winner always takes me by surprise so I'm probably barking up the wrong tree.

And does anyone manage to watch an entire episode without reaching for a sweet snack? This program is not good for my waistline.
