It was interesting that Dan didn’t vote tactically with Kate, all the others did ( with everybody) but Dan had obviously bonded with Kate in such a way that he lost out himself because of it. Although suspecting Kate wasn’t the same as her pic, he clearly thought it was still a woman. I thought a lot of the contestants were pretty awful, but overall worth watching for the psychological interest.
lemongrove I thought it was an interesting concept. There must be many people who's main interaction with other people on a daily basis is online often by text only.
For those of you who haven't come across the programme. There were 8 people living in an apartment block who could only communicate with each other via 'The Circle' a text based social platform. They were able to see each other's profile but not all of them were being themselves. On some days players were asked to rate each other with one being blocked. The blocked player then left and a new player joined. At the end of the series one player won £50k.
The winner was 'Kate' who was actually Alex using his girlfriend's photos as his profile pics.
Watched some of it, an interesting psychological experiment if you can look past all the effing and blinding And some of the narcissists on the show. The right person won the prize at the end I thought.
Is it based on the book by David Eggers? (Can't get terrestrial UK TV as I live abroad) I found the book very relevant, though badly written, and haven't yet got round to seeing the film with Emma Watson in it. I am surprised that they have made a TV version so shortly after the film came out.
If it's something completely else, sorry to have butted in!
