Goodbye Mr Chips

Its a lovely one as is the original. Going to watch Judi Dench, 'My Passion for Trees' and 'Philomena' , tonight

Love love love that film.Martin Clunes is so perfect for the role.Have seen it many times as shown quite often on ITV3.Same as Goodnight Mr Tom and the Railway children something so magical about them.

Saw it for the second time yesterday along with Goodnight Mr Tom. Both excellent films.

It's a great film. I've cried every time I've watched it.

The same for Goodnight Mr Tom - I once sat with a gentleman I was looking after, whilst his wife went out shopping. The man had suffered a stroke prior to that and had lost his ability to speak. We sat and watched the film, and both sobbed through the sad parts. The man's wife came home, saw us both crying, and wondered what on Earth was wrong .

I like the film too and the book is great as well.

I still prefer the original film starring Robert Donat, a real tear jerker.

I much prefer the original too. The ending in the modern version was nowhere near as convincing or poignant as that in the old film.
