I agree those of us of "a certain age" will have happy memories. RIP.

sad to hear this , she was a great character actor and gave a lot of pleasure to many people

I've just started a thread about June Whitfield too, but I'll ask for it to be deleted.
I loved watching her and have such fond memo of her with Terry Scott in Terry and June in the 1960s. Such gentle humour delivered with an ever so patient wry smile! I'll miss seeing her on tv very much.

Oh no, I hadn't heard the news.
I loved her in Ab Fab
RIP

Very sad, but oh so weird as I was reading about her aversion to watching television as it was all sex and swearing.
Only about an hour ago in the Mail, then just minutes ago I got a pop-up about her sad news.
I've been enjoying repeats of Last of the Summer Wine with her starring in it.
Bless her I saw her as someone who I thought would go on for ever.

June Whitfield was a one-off. RIP, thank you.

We've lost another 'great'. Loved her in Ab Fab.

RIP June.

Very sad, she was so good in AbFab, the consummate pro, lines delivered so well, and with the facial expressions spot on!

I remember her in Terry & June too, again always a top class performance.

I have heard recording of her radio work, The Glumms for example, although perhaps before my time.

When interviewed, she always came across as a very genuine person, with no "side" to her, as my gran would say.

I can’t remember a time when I didn’t know her name. I even remember her as Ethel Glum (of Ron and Eth) on the radio in the 1950s.

Yes definitely a professional through and through. I did remember Terry & June but not the Glums.
God bless June thanks

I feel very sad to read this. I saw her once at Guildford Theatre. Not on stage but in the audience and having drinks during the interval. I really admired the jacket she was wearing, a sequinned coat of many colours. She looked fantastic.
RIP June.

Ahh! She was local to where I used to live and often seen at local events, school fairs and other charity events. Had to be her meeter and greeter once when kids small and she was opening the fair! She was friendly and did the job well!

I remember her in the Glums smile

‘Oo Eth’ ‘Oo Ron my dear heart’ yes it’s the Glums where to my memory she started out. What an actress. She will be sadly missed. ?

Jane43 Sat 29-Dec-18 23:19:33

I was reading about her too. RIP June. I also remember her on the radio in The Glums, on tv in Terry and June and more recently in Absolutely Fabulous. She will be missed.

Yet another of the greats that we`ve lost.

R.I.P June

She was so funny in everything she did. My most recent memory is of her playing Edina's mother in Absolutely Fabulous and this exchange between them which JW delivered so beautifully:

Eddie : Inside of me there is a thin person just screaming to get out.

Gran : Just the one, dear?
