Something light, something cheery?

Do you have Netflix oldbatty? If so, try The Santa Clarita Diet with Drew Barrymore, it's very funny, (well, it appeals to my sense of humour). I've just recently discovered "Nailed It". A baking show like no other. I'll have further think, and see what else I can come up with.

Isn't that about blood and horrible things?

It's about an estate agent who wakes up one morning to discover that she is a zombie. It follows her attempts to keep up a normal life, and hide the fact that she has to eat human flesh to keep from decomposing. Her husband helps, and her daughter eventually finds out. It really is funny, although it doesn't sound so.

Oh no, my son would love that but not for me! I liked The Syndicate, Line of Duty, French films, Tom Hanks.

If you have Netflix try ‘Dumplin’ with Jennifer Anniston it’s just a nice feel good movie.
I’ve never watched Luther but it’s coming back tomorrow for a new series so I started watching previous series if you haven’t watched it and you liked Line of Duty you’ll like Luther I really enjoyed it.

Swimming with Men is a lovely feelgood British film on Prime or Netflix.

Episodes of The Royle Family and Gavin and Stacey always entertain me.

I am late to the 'Upstart Crow' scene. I found it on IPlayer on a dark night and am now addicted. I had originally written it off as a poor man's 'Blackadder' but I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up. Also rather bizarrely I watched the RI Christmas lectures this year...used to enjoy them as a child. This year's were a delight of non patronising child friendly science and lovely message of inclusivity presented by mainly female experts doing a brilliant job. I watched the last episode's final minutes with a big smile on my face and eyes full of tears.

What about episodes of Father Ted ? They have all three complete series of it on the channel 4 player.

Oh yes, loved Detectorists - just what we need, soft gentle whimsy with a good heart. Not much of it about.

I think a new series of Grantchester is coming at some time to ITV oldbatty, but with a new vicar.

Also starting soon is the new series of Death in Paradise. I quite like A real O'Hanlan in this.

I love that episode.

I love the one with the local talent contest when all three dress up as Elvis, and the one where they try to give up booze fags and rollerblading for lent. And the ones with the sheep competition and the Lovely Girls competition.

I watched quite a few episodes over Christmas as they were on channel More4.

I love the couple who run the shop and are always fighting, but then pretend to be a devoted couple when Ted turns up.

I was a latecomer to Father Ted.
I always assumed I wouldn't like it, but loved it once I was talked into watching it.

I saw Father Ted when it was first broadcast about 1995 and remember that it seemed very surreal at the time.

I discovered it too then,a late night slot somewhere obscure.it was nuts!

Just checked the TV guide and there are about four episodes on late tonight again on More4 but at about 2.30 in morning which is no good. If you’ve got a Smart TV you can watch it on the channel4 player where it’s on permanently.

Alan Partridge was another comedy I remember seeing around the same time 1995. I remember the first episode not being 100% it was a parody.
