We Are Displaced is a new book about the refugee and migrant experience written by Malala Yousafzai, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014. The book is “part memoir, part communal storytelling” and draws on visits that Yousafzai made to refugee camps. It tells the stories of the people she met there, blending them with her own experience of adjusting to a new life and being cut off from the home she had loved. The first part tells of the events that drove from her home in Pakistan, and how she came to be in a hospital in Birmingham.
