Did anyne watch the risible performance of England cricketer Monty Panesar on a recent Mastermind programme?
Not only did he perform miserably in his specialist subject (Sikh religion) but his general knowledge was zero, in fact, less than a 5 yr old.
An absolute disgrace, given that he was born and bred in Luton.
Talk about being insular...
Your thoughts?

Some inconsequential facts stick in your mind for ever, others flit through!

Thanks for that Jal when DH answers something which I don't expect him to I will tell him its an inconsequential fact. That should stop him gloating! grin

When a on a sinking ship the ability to swim is of much more importance than a high IQ. grin

Knowing where the lifeboats are is an important fact grin

In a restaurant in Cape Town an Ibex was, along with various other meats, simply Venison. Would that have been a correct answer?

On the first morning of our first cruise (of the two), we were mustered for a lifeboat drill and stood under the empty space where ours, number 13, should have been - it had been left in port for repair. We were told that in case of emergency we should go to that empty bay and somebody would sort us out.

We’ve seen Titanic. We’d have gone to any bay but that one. grin
