Been meaning to watch this for some time and just caught up in iPlayer.

I defy anyone to watch this and not be moved equally to anger and tears. How anyone could think our benefit system is fit for purpose is beyond me.

anja I agree with you, you may have missed these discussions from earlier in the month.

Thanks GA must have missed those. I only dip in and out of GN these days.

I’d like to have seen what some of our more right-wing (scroungers and playing the system) grannies had to say. I noticed that they were noticeable by their absence.

Still if it gets a few more to actually watch this then the more threads the better.

It was discussed on this forum when it first came out

That was in 2016 Annie

I’ve only seen it recently on TV so it’s impression is still fresh in my mind. I think there might be others like myself who were moved by it. I still remember the impact Cathy Come Home had in 1966 another great film by Ken Loach.

The situation has deteriorated since that film was made. Still as long as few scroungers are humiliated, thats the main thing.
