Did anyone see this , I've just watched it on i player ? My word, it was tense. Beautifully filmed in Amsterdam with the wonderful Julien Baptiste back in action .

I've given up!! Bit annoyed as enjoyed "The Missing" but it was getting hard work. Maybe it's an age thing but I felt I was struggling to remember what had happened previously. I might have been influenced by the fact I have just been catching up with Line of Duty on the i-player! Now that's what I call drama. Got absolutely hooked on it and looking forward to the new series starting soon.

So many twists and turns I'm hoping it's exercising my brain! I'm not usually into this type of thing but finding it compelling to watch.

And a million euros seems to take up very little space in a holdall.

Did anyone see Tom Hollander in the Comic Relief Mamma Mia? I knew the man had a sense of humour. Makes up for the lack of height. (I nearly put inches but I knew that would be misconstrued!)

After watching the last Baptiste episode last night, what was that all about in Genevieve's flat?
We saw a chap go in, knock over an ornament, replace it, and he had a chopper in his hand. Thought he was going to seriously hurt her.
She comes home, notices the moved ornament, goes searching, finds nothing, then is on her phone.
No explanantions.
Did I fall asleep?
Help!

Luckygirl Mon 25-Mar-19 08:51:57

I think we have to assume that the guy with the chopper also got the message that the whole operation was off and went on his merry way.

trisher Mon 25-Mar-19 09:53:49

Yes I thought that eventually. Strange ending but I had become totally hypnotised by the son's eyebrows. Did anyone else notice them? They were so thick and black.
I was wondering about a future series-Baptiste and Genevieve?

Jalima1108 Mon 25-Mar-19 10:02:17

I am quite bemused and, no, I didn't fall asleep!

If you thought someone had broken into your flat would you creep around it in the dark? Or would you go out through the door again and phone the police, particularly if you were part of the investigating team in a dangerous operation? Did she know who it was? Was it the same man as in the wheelchair at the end who presumably going to die? The one she kissed? Who was the woman with the curly hair?
Why did Baptiste wait two months to update Edward? Why was his arm still in a sling two months later?
How come the son, looking immaculate, was wandering around out of prison looking at his mother's memorial stone?

Does anyone know?
I found the last episode very unsatisfactory.

trisher Mon 25-Mar-19 10:10:21

Wasn't the man in the wheelchair her ex-work partner and the curly haired woman his wife?
Baptiste was shot wasn't he? He's and old bloke it would take time for his arm to heal.
Son had police officers with him (I admit to rewinding that bit to check because I missed them first time. They were hard to spot) That seems to be the only way I can check about what happened when I get a bit confused and wonder if I dozed off and missed something!!

Jalima1108 Mon 25-Mar-19 10:18:06

Perhaps I had nodded off in previous episodes and missed the parts that needed ends tying up!

I did notice one policewoman or prison warder in the distance when the son was looking at his mother's stone but that part seemed very unrealistic.

I could have written your post of 10.02 Jalima There are so many unanswered questions. Who on earth was that strange looking woman sitting on the wall outside the hospital? Who on earth would creep around a flat (in the dark) knowing that there had been (or indeed still could be) an intruder ? What happened to the guy with the meat cleaver to make him change his mind? In my opinion, a ridiculous and thoroughly unsatisfactory ending . Hummmmph

Jalima1108 Mon 25-Mar-19 10:28:42

And was that St Margaret's Bay in the final scene with Edward and Baptiste?

I also forgot why Edward was so involved in wanting to find the two girls .....

I'm relieved it's over.

Looking forward to Line of Duty grin

trisher Mon 25-Mar-19 10:46:43

One police woman escorted him in then stepped back Jalima -ah the joys of rewind! I'd miss so much without it.
I agree about Line of Duty.

Luckygirl Mon 25-Mar-19 11:33:18

The woman on the wall was the wife of the man in the wheelchair, who was an ex-colleague of the Interpol (?) woman who had an affair with him.

Eloethan Mon 25-Mar-19 11:43:32

As often happens, I was gripped up until the last episode, which seemed to end rather abruptly and unsatisfactorily.

gillybob Mon 25-Mar-19 11:48:12

Jeez how did I miss that Lucky ? You must've really paid attention to the finer details of the story. Now that you explain, it makes perfect sense.... thank you smile

Luckygirl Mon 25-Mar-19 13:14:33

You're welcome. smile

Jalima1108 Mon 25-Mar-19 14:38:47

Thank you Luckuygirl - I either missed that or had forgotten it!

Grandma2213 Tue 26-Mar-19 01:22:41

There was an earlier episode where Genevieve was reading to the man in the wheelchair and the curly haired woman, his wife went mad at her. I'm still not too sure about meat cleaver man but don't think a pair of scissors would have been a good defence.

I did enjoy the series but if I was Edward having lost everything, listening to Baptiste philosophising at the end might have been the final straw!!

LullyDully Tue 26-Mar-19 08:11:06

Perhaps they cut out the bit out when she hand to hand fought with the killer and threw him over the balcony before having a shower and going to bed.

The man in the coma must have been important, was he her lover in Call the Mdwife? Maybe we all fell asleep.

Jalima1108 Tue 26-Mar-19 10:12:19

was he her lover in Call the Mdwife? Maybe we all fell asleep.
grin

It was her reading of the bed-time story that did it for me

trisher Tue 26-Mar-19 10:13:29

He was her lover and was working under cover in the Serbian gang. Think she spoke briefly about it in one episode-but don't ask me which, I'm not that clear about who did what when.

Lily65 Tue 26-Mar-19 10:22:41

Why didn't Baptiste go back to his much adored wife and slightly grumpy daughter?

trisher Tue 26-Mar-19 10:34:40

He did didn't he? She said she was longing to sleep in her own bed-mind you she might have decided it was more peaceful without him!

Lily65 Tue 26-Mar-19 10:36:15

OMG I fell asleep at that bit then!
