Did anyone see this , I've just watched it on i player ? My word, it was tense. Beautifully filmed in Amsterdam with the wonderful Julien Baptiste back in action .

Actually I fast forwarded the bit with the man with the meat cleaver in her flat so maybe missed a bit!

gillybob Tue 26-Mar-19 10:45:16

Oh yes it ended with him putting his head on his wife’s lap and her soothing him lovingly .... Just like me and my DH do every night ...... not .

Gonegirl Tue 26-Mar-19 11:05:00

I am starting to watch it all over again. From the start. This time I not be putting my head in GN every so often. And then wondering why I wasn't following the plot. hmm

Lily65 Tue 26-Mar-19 13:25:55

They were a bit drippy weren't they gilly!

NanKate Tue 26-Mar-19 13:42:22

So what shall we all watch next ? Or have some of you found something already which I can watch on catch up.

oldgimmer1 Tue 26-Mar-19 14:07:14

@nankate and all wise telly-watching Gransnetters - just a quick reminder that...

IT'S BACK! THE TELLY MOMENT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FOR TWO LONG YEARS....IT'S:

LINE OF DUTY.

'nuff said. As you were.......

Lily65 Tue 26-Mar-19 14:30:44

I'm stockpiling it.

Maggiemaybe Tue 26-Mar-19 17:38:53

Oh, Line of Duty, how I’ve missed you!

There’s a certain refrain playing on a loop in my head now. Nothing compares, nothing compares.... smile

trisher Tue 26-Mar-19 17:49:12

I watched the very first episode of LofD again. It was brilliant but OMG they all look so young!!!

Lily65 Tue 26-Mar-19 18:10:09

Yes baby faced!

Maggiemaybe Tue 26-Mar-19 18:36:15

I’ve saved the final episode of the last series to watch on Sunday before the new one starts. I can’t think of a better Mother’s Day treat than a double dose of intrigue, treachery and threat (though I’m hoping I might have some fizz and chocs to enjoy with it).

NanKate Tue 26-Mar-19 21:27:31

Thanks OldG I shall be ready.

Jalima1108 Tue 26-Mar-19 23:03:21

Yes, like you would if your fellow was chasing around, getting himself shot at, trying to save the world and all in it when he should be retired and at home mowing the lawn, digging the veggie patch.
And, all having settled down, then swans off to England to have a meeting on a nice shingly beach with someone who could have been updated in some long phone calls.

Are you a glutton for punishment Gonegirl?

POGS Wed 27-Mar-19 10:34:56

I thought it was a good series.

If I had one criticism it would be the 5th programme was a tad lightweight in action and instead of Baptist telling the story after 2 months had gone by some of his information could have been in programme 5 to make that programme more interesting and eventful.

I admit the bit with the guy sent by Constantin to kill Genevive in her flat was more than a bit odd.

I hope there will be a series 2.

trisher Wed 27-Mar-19 12:24:14

Or could have facetimed him Jalima1108. Maybe having him home for 2 months had proved too much for her!

Jalima1108 Wed 27-Mar-19 16:18:28

His feet are itching trisher - ready for the next series!

Jalima1108 Wed 27-Mar-19 16:19:07

Or could have facetimed him Jalima1108.
Yes, I must keep up-to-date!

merlotgran Wed 27-Mar-19 16:25:50

What happened to the money?

Maggiemaybe Wed 27-Mar-19 16:34:38

Good point, merlot. confused Edward had what was left of it in a hold-all when he paid for his passage to England and the mobile home, didn’t he?

And what happened to the bloke who killed Edward’s ex wife and partner - did Edward call an ambulance or just let him bleed to death?

I was concentrating on my knitting pattern when all this took place and DH can’t help.

Maggiemaybe Wed 27-Mar-19 16:35:31

There’ll be no knitting during Line of Duty, btw!

POGS Wed 27-Mar-19 17:08:23

Baptiste used the cash to buy the yacht and told Constantin it was purchased in his name.

He framed Constantine in other words and the next you knew Constantin either jumped or was thrown from his fglat to his death.

Jalima1108 Wed 27-Mar-19 17:12:10

Where's the yacht now?

POGS Wed 27-Mar-19 17:35:09

Hmm? ?

merlotgran Wed 27-Mar-19 17:44:14

Oh yes. I'd forgotten about the yacht. Thanks, POGS
