We watched the latest episode yesterday and I realised that I have lost track of the personal relationships - could someone please remind me. Thank you.

I love Shetland even though I often have no flipping idea what is going on.

I agree Tosh’s boyfriend is odd, he gives me the creeps.

I agree there is only one MARY known to her friends as Mary Queen of Scots.

I still don't understand why they didn't kill the girl instead of trapsing her all over the island. She would have been costing money all the time.

Exactly makes no sense, they kill Daniel for asking questions, they kill all the people on the boat just to lay low while Perez was sniffing about, but risked keeping Zezi alive all that time??

And Surely Sandy new there was another door to the lounge.

AND Perez still laying all his cards on the table to Alice when she is a suspect

(Just watching it now)

"knew"

Glad Alice whinged-off in the end. Didnt like her and too much pairing off at the end would be annoying.

Also glad the Duncan/Perez bromance won out.

I agree with everything you've said above notanan2. I thought this series had several holes in the plot. Not as good as previous ones.

And yes, Tosh's boyfriend is creepy and far too smiley at the wrong times. Weird!

Badenkate Thu 21-Mar-19 08:59:17

I like Tosh's boyfriend and was happy they got together in the end. He isn't creepy at all, just rather uncertain about women - haven't you seen ' The IT Crowd'? As someone who's been around scientists and IT people most of my life, a lot are like that, believe me- but generally very nice if a little odd. Just what Tosh needs!
Also glad the Jimmy/Alice thing didn't get anywhere - to be honest there didn't seem to be much chemistry between them anyway.

I think there's a lot of agreement here that Jimmy doesn't need a flaky, glamorous fipperty-jibbet, he needs the attentions of a more mature woman -possibly a grandmotherly type - who would know how to look after him and see to his every need, including regular apple crumbles.

Luckygirl Thu 21-Mar-19 09:17:33

Sorry grannyticktock, he is already under my wing and has not time to eat your apple crumbles; I have got his "every need" in hand! grin

Too late ladies, have you forgotten he comes from my little town? He has been known to frequent the inn near my house and my spies will alert me if he appears. grin
Actually, he hasn't been seen for a while. Do you think he has cottoned onto to the fact a group of old grannies "fancy" him.?

well, that's nice!

Douglas Henshall makes me cry every time I see him,he has the exact same eyes as my late dad.I even looked out old photos to confirm I wasn't imagining it and he is very like Dad in his late 40's .I shall invstigate to see if theres any possibility of him being related. We have a number of actors in the extended family so I wouldn't be surprised .

notanan2 Thu 21-Mar-19 16:35:20

Jal like that episode of father ted where all the MrsDoyles LUFF the Daniel O Donnel character? grin

Jalima1108 Thu 21-Mar-19 16:58:38

I missed that one, must look it up

kittylester Thu 21-Mar-19 17:03:32

We've only just had Shetland Series 5 screen in Australia.
Does anyone know why Duncan called Perez "billy" in the last scene when they were ordering dinner?
