New drama, The Cheat, ITV

I’ve binge watched the first three tonight, did manage to fit in time for supper. Meanwhile I recorded the final part.
Then the news came on, and DH is watching, so I will have to fidget until I can regain control of the remote, and watch the end.

i have recorded it as my tv time is 6.30-7.30 ..hubby then holds the remote like its a grenade he then watches TV until 10pm when i can have it back lol

He is a right idiot, and as Teetime says, both Adam and Leah would have known all the correct procedures in universities to deal with these problems, but hey! it's quite an enjoyable drama even though it's implausible.

My daughter was a uni lecturer for a time and one of her students plagiarised her work. My daughter's surname had changed with marriage so the student hadn't realised although she might have spotted the same unusual spelling of daughter's first name! What a numpty! My daughter was reading the girl's essay and thought "Hello! That sounds familiar!"

The actress who plays Rose is very good she manages to convey quite a lot with a sly smirk.

DH and I have just had a long breakfast chat about Cheat and I agree with the Grasnettter who called him an eejit. If he really is an experienced lecturer he would have learnt the wily ways of some female students and hia alarm bells would have been ringing loud and long. As for the DicPic - well. he had been drinking so it wouldnt be visible let along photogenic! As for the wife she would know there is a very clear procedure in universities for dealing with plagiarism and it doesn't include calling the student out in front of their peers. The whole thing is barmy but I shall watch it to the end and keep moaning.
On a final note to include Father Mother Son - do these actresses never eat?

I thought that too, shysal and bluebelle, as there haven’t been any other indications of “fantasy”. I must admit, though, I thought Rose was going to use that incident as blackmail, though probably not without photographic evidence, her preferred style. It’s quite a gripping story but with just a bit too much implausibility for my liking.

I agree "Maggiemaybe" about Leah's father having more to do with Rose, and I think that's why she targeted Leah in the first place. I agree about the husband as well, don't think it's very realistic that he would of invited Rose in for a drink when she dropped of the notes, especially considering the situation.

I’m nearly gripped. Though she’s too easily wound up and the husband’s too much of a gullible eejit for either of them to hold down the jobs they have, imho.

I have a theory that Leah’s father has more to do with Rose than we’re led to believe....

I have watched the first two and am gripped! I do hope the ending makes all become clear! I record the episodes so that I can rewind if I miss something.

I'm finding it a compelling watch. I'm hoping that the inevitable twists make sense and are plausible. There seem to be lots of little comments that may well be clues which make it one of those dramas you have to watch again so that you can pick them up!
