I'm starting this new thread as apparently our other one was over a year old!! shock

We'll have to do more gossiping to prevent this happening again.

Here's a link to the old one.

Just how thick can Will be?!!!!

"Oh you're taking her winter clothes as well, I suppose there might be a cold snap"

"If you take the pictures, Mia 's room will look pretty bare when she comes back"

Give me strength!

I think Russ is okay. He really loves Lily and I get the feeling he is genuinely trying to help Elizabeth. I also think Elizabeth will get too besotted with him hmm

confused

The RT's 'The Archers this week' for May 18-24 says that the last scenes recorded with Joe in April will be aired next week. The production team are still considering storylines beyond these episodes. Any guesses about the circumstances of his demise? I think he might just die in his sleep.

Sara65 Tue 14-May-19 21:01:54

Probably, Clarrie will take him in a cup of tea, and he’ll have died peacefully with a smile on his face

phoenix Tue 14-May-19 23:15:30

Think you could well be right, Sarah65 and no doubt there will be much "Well, as least he died at Grange Farm, the place he loved, and didn't have to move to No.1 The Green"

But what will happen to Bartelby & Gem? (Although I still think his coffin should be taken to St Stephens by pony & trap, it's what he would have wanted.)

Then there's Daphne & Adele to consider............

Lazigirl Wed 15-May-19 12:51:32

It's the end of an era with the demise of Joe. How can we possibly know who is speaking without him announcing their names....."now then Tom Archer". Many characters are so hard to tell apart. I have changed my mind about Russ, still have a few reservations about him. but he has turned out better than expected and may well end up with Elizabeth. I love Jazzer, he's my favourite character Avor2 and have no trouble with his accent. As to Will he has always portrayed a character with little understanding or feeling for others.

Sara65 Wed 15-May-19 12:57:28

Actually, I agree, I can’t always tell who’s speaking till I get the gist of the conversation!
Also agree about Will, want to feel sorry for him, but he’s so awful!

LullyDully Wed 15-May-19 15:18:46

Russ is such a sponger, that's what I have against him. He never seems to pay his way, or work and he let Elizabeth foot his debts. Not nice, even if he is a good artist.

Will has no emotional intelligence. He said such shocking things to poor Mia. However, I was so impressed by the tactful Brummie granny yesterday. She will hopefully have Poppy soon under her wing.

Sara65 Wed 15-May-19 15:23:27

Yes, she was a lot kinder than I would have been under the circumstances!

Avor2 Sun 19-May-19 15:04:18

Had a bit of a listen this morning, perhaps Elizabeth with have an affair with happy chappy Will, they both have kids that are causing a few problems, and they could run off into the distance to forget their woes. If it wasn't for Jazza I would dispair, he is the only one that is making me laugh. Hey ho roll on next week.

I have been so out of touch I have missed a lot of the Archers.
Fountainpen I quite like the new Archers writers efforts, you have been livening it all up.

I dont see why they have opened another Archers thread I thought it was immortal.
I think I lost track of the Archers thread when my old tablet died.
RIP Google nexus tablet. I prefered you.

Do we know who played the awful Camilla in tonights episode? What a dreadful character!

Culag Sun 19-May-19 19:40:47

Has anyone heard of Camilla before? Or has she just been invented by the new editor and scriptwriters?

Also I think David’s outburst with Kenton the other day was not in character. I know he has an issue about the loan, but I don’t think he would have gone that far.

Iam64 Sun 19-May-19 19:41:31

Great character and gave Freddy the chance to live at the stables. He’s good with horses and Shula will look after him. He’s the chance to make a good career with her, could take over eventually, stay in Ambridge and rehabilitate himself.
Never trust a freeloader who ingratiated himself with students then their vulnerable mothers. He’s a chancer

Lazigirl Sun 19-May-19 20:35:00

Where did Camilla suddenly pop up from like a pantomime dame? I think it was obvious from the beginning that Freddy would go to the stables. I still think Russ may turn out ok Iam64 but you may well be right. TA is a wonderful respite from politics smile

Iam64 Sun 19-May-19 21:12:43

Camilla was a glory wasn’t she, Nigel would have had nothing in common with her apart from being posh. I still believe killing Nigel was an act of cruelty to him, Elizabeth, the twins and the Archers followers. He was such good fun - we need a bit of fun more than ever

chelseababy Sun 19-May-19 21:42:30

Patricia Hodge I think was Camilla Ajayf

AyjayF Sun 19-May-19 21:45:15

Patricia Hodge?! Oh, my. In " what I call The Archers" as Miranda's mother would have said!

showergelfresh Sun 19-May-19 23:28:52

Oh yes mawbeoomsback!
Nocasha - I do get it now!

Can’t wait to see what happens there...

showergelfresh Sun 19-May-19 23:31:12

I think they had Camilla on tonight just so they could show an example of the ‘pull yourself together’ brigade as opposed to the ‘understanding’ of mental health Elizabeth is promoting in her role.

LullyDully Mon 20-May-19 08:14:23

I also thought that Camilla forgot that her mother was an ex dancer rather than an aristocrat.

Bossyrossy Mon 20-May-19 08:34:33

That’s what I think, Crystaltipps, Russ and Elizabeth will become an item leading to a very bitter and explosive storyline.

Bossyrossy Mon 20-May-19 08:43:20

Bring back Nigel and here is how: Elizabeth takes up genealogy as a hobby and finds that Nigel was a twin, separated at birth. She takes a DNA test and links up with his missing identical sibling. They meet up and low and behold, he looks and sounds just like Nigel. They fall in love and marry and the mistake of killing off a much loved character is rectified.
