Oh wow! I have gone back to episode one and it is so good, so relevant.

As the earlier series are now being repeated on BBC4 very late at night, they are coming up on the i-player again as soon as they have been shown. Episodes 1 and 2 of series 1 were on TV last night and are now on the i-player, with 28 days to watch them.

DH and I sussed the UCO half way through after first falling for the red herring. It took me a while to work out what UCO stands for.
Love this programme and have followed it since series 1

I’ve just watched series 1 in two days, fabulous can’t remember seeing that series before. Then I will proceed through the rest of the series before I let myself watch the new series. I love binge watching, couldn’t bear to go back to watching things once a week.

I do think that you need to have watched this from the beginning to really get into it now. Luckily my daughter alerted me a few weeks ago that it was on the i-player and I got totally hooked on it - waching two or three episodes at a time. The story line with Keely Hawkes was particularly gripping. I haven't watched a lot of TV for a couple of years but think it's brilliant - totally hooked!! I would have like to waited until the current one was finished and watched it then but don't think I could avoid spoilers from friends and newspapers!!

What the heck is all this alphabet soup about UCO and OCG (don’t bother telling me I ll forget) no wonder I couldn’t get into it it’s another language I’m sure that s partly why I couldn’t relate to the story line I m taking so long to work out what they are talking about
I m going to try watching it again before I give up because I can’t see what I m missing Neither myself or my daughter have watched past series but I presumed it was like others and told a story in its own right in each series so didn’t expect to find it so difficult
Perhaps I ll come back and say yippee I get it now

I don't want Hastings to be the baddie either, I like his human touch. It always takes me a couple of episodes to get into the swing of these dramas but I enjoyed it last night.

nightswimmer Mon 01-Apr-19 10:19:54

Good Tv for a change.

Maggiemaybe Mon 01-Apr-19 10:15:25

Loved it! The only problem is that DH won’t believe that I guessed the ID of the UCO in the OCG (I’m well into this). Who knew you had to say it out loud for it to count? grin

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 01-Apr-19 09:28:59

I am very very late to this as I've never watched this before. It was a good drama and I shall try to pick up on what is going on.
Those abbreviations baffle me too.
I watched it because Vicky McClure is a local girl.

Pittcity Mon 01-Apr-19 09:25:27

OCG - organised criminal gang
FAO - fire arms officer
SCD - serious crimes department

I think it was a tracker in Maneet's phone.

Did you spot the kid from series one who put Steve's fingers in a vice? He's grown up now and in the OCG.

travelsafar Mon 01-Apr-19 09:19:32

Hooked straight away.Only thing i don't like is the use of abbreviations when they are talking about people or senareos i loose track of what it is they are talking about!!! lol.smile

trisher Mon 01-Apr-19 09:15:58

Watched it. Thought it was a bit unbelievable. Would the woman cop have stopped the whole lot for a 1 vehicle incident? Might have left one vehicle or ordered one officer to get out and help. Everyone? No! The thing was a bug wasn't it? To either record or track calls.

bikergran Mon 01-Apr-19 08:53:54

littleannie thanks for info.

I watched last nights episode, bit confused as I have never ever even watched one episode so I suppose I.m watching it back to front in a way.

What was the thing inside the mobile phone?

(although don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't caught up with it)

maryeliza54 Mon 01-Apr-19 08:22:44

I guessed early on about that paddy it was too obvious for it to be the woman #proudofmyself

paddyann Mon 01-Apr-19 01:38:22

I enjoyed it too, good wee twist at the end ,,I didn't see that coming

Littleannie Sun 31-Mar-19 23:28:46

Don't forget, the earlier series are being repeated on BBC4 starting tonight at 1 o'clock. Maybe they will be on BBC4 i-player so you can watch them at a more civilised time !

cornergran Sun 31-Mar-19 23:24:32

Another here who enjoyed it, isn’t it a good thing we’re all different?

BlueBelle Sun 31-Mar-19 22:55:08

Don’t be sorry it’s not your fault I didn’t take to it
There’s plenty of other dranas coming up I was just surprised
I d spoken to my daughter earlier and she was going to watch it and we crossed text post at the end both saying ‘didn’t like that’ yes I m surprised as everyone on here seems to love it
Never mind

maryeliza54 Sun 31-Mar-19 22:46:05

BlueBelle Sun 31-Mar-19 22:37:03
