I agree Floradora I've cancelled my subscription for that reason. I can't get Amazon to work here in rural France so back to DVDs for us.

There are some great vintage comedies on Amazon Prime, including Black Books and Father Ted.
I can get Amazon and Netflix on the laptop, the tablet and the TV.

Oh I suppose I could get everything on the phone too but I can't watch action on such a small screen.

Thanks folks I have written down all your helpful suggestions in my tv/video book, so I now have plenty of good watching to do.

We don't have Netflix but saw a lovely film at someone elses house- "What We Did On Our Holidays", starring Billy Connolly, David Tennant, three delightful child actors and some fabulous scenery. I wish there were more films like this.

Janeainsworth, yes Making A Murderer was very good, award winning and there is a series 2 but not much new information in it as not much has happened to Steven Avery or his nephew.

I’m just watching When They See Us, a four part dramatisation of a true story of five boys accused of raping a jogger in Central Park, New York in 1989. This is a very powerful drama. I won’t say any more because it may spoil it for anybody who wants to watch it but it is gripping me.

I loved The making of a murderer. I kept getting up during the night to watch another one and was sad when it finished. I can't quite remember now if it was in series 2 that the new investigator (female) came into it or if it was during the end of series 1 but if it was series 2 then yes I agree there was nothing new happened but she did thorough detailed investigations and uncovered lots of new detail and poor recording and investigation by the original police dept . Lots of collusion in the police force..I found it far more interesting how the female investigator pieces it all together.

I also loved project runway but the most recent ones are not on there.

I really enjoyed Always Be My Maybe - a romcom or should I say famdramedy (it's a family film) with a difference.

I’ve just started to watch When They See Us. It’s incredibly disturbing and hard to watch though. It provides a lens into how racism and disregard for law and truth affects young people. Trump wanted them dead. The director, Ava DuVernay has also made another really interesting film that’s on Netflix, called 13th. Worth watching.

CyclingKnitter, thank you for the other recommendation. I watched all of When They See Us yesterday and as you say it is hard to watch, especially part four. Yes, even in 1989 Trump was coming out with his racist, extreme views and willing to squander money on promoting them. I noticed from the end that Robert De Niro and Oprah Winfrey were involved in the production so perhaps it was their idea to include the bit about Trump.

Very interesting link Jane, thank you. One of the comments under the article states that Trump was still insisting the men were guilty in 2016. What a disgrace he is, all the money spent by his parents on his education was obviously wasted.

Humbertbear, thank you for flagging up Shtisel. I dipped into it having exhausted other series and was put off by the subtitles at the time. Your comment encouraged me to try again and it is absolutely delightful. I'd love a third series but sometimes the third one begins to get a bit more fanciful. Still, will give it a go if it appears.

I have recently watched Top of the Lake with Elizabeth Moss.Didnt fancy it when it was on TV but watching it a couple of episodes at a time i really enjoyed it. Although i must say her facial expressions are just like those in The Handmaidens Tale.
