TV is so dire at the moment that I am looking for feel good films to watch.
We watched 'Finding Your Feet' with Imelda Staunton last night and that was lovely.
We have Amazon Prime, Sky and Netflix so can be fairly recent films.

Not a feel food film but my girls could recite, dance and act 'West Side Story' they had watched it so many time when they were little. blush Dd3 still howls when Tony dies.

Ruth and Alex, starring Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman is a nice feelgood film and is available free on Amazon Prime.

My children always loved Grease 2 when they were off sick. Not sure why they preferred 2 to 1.

I like the sound of 'Finding your Feet'. Imelda Staunton is always good. Hope it's on Netflix.

My DH loves You’ve Got Mail, he’s such an old softie. I love to watch Little Women, there are several versions but I like the one starring Winona Ryder. I also like The Goodbye Girl starring Richard Dreyfus

I like 'Serendipity' with John Cusack. I watch it every December.

The new film 'Yesterday' is supposed to rate highly in the feel good department, but I haven't seen it yet.

Oh 'Leap Year', is another silly but enjoyable film.

I recorded and watched a Russell Crowe film the other day called “The Water Diviner”. We both enjoyed it, although as a lot of it took place, as flash backs, during a war, it could get bloody. But the story line was good. Perhaps it is available on catch up.

MiniMoon Fri 12-Jul-19 18:27:30

A film I watched recently was Dumplin'. I really enjoyed it. Swimming with Men was good too. Hope the trailer link works.

I love Sleepless in Seattle - Love Actually (only watch at Christmas) - Sense and Sensability and Parenthood smile

GrandmaKT Fri 12-Jul-19 18:47:46

Oh Parenthood! My favourite ever film, I love it. I've bought so many copies for expectant parents over the years, - what family is all about.

Ones that most people will have heard of:

Notting Hill
About a Boy
Baghdad Cafe
School of Rock
Grease
Pride
Ones that aren't so well known - give them a look if they are shown on TV:

Enough Said (James Gandolfini)
Begin Again (Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo)
Baghdad Cafe
Once Around (Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter - sad moments too but ultimately feel good)
