TV is so dire at the moment that I am looking for feel good films to watch.
We watched 'Finding Your Feet' with Imelda Staunton last night and that was lovely.
We have Amazon Prime, Sky and Netflix so can be fairly recent films.

The hospital drama New Amsterdam is a light watch and I recommend Shtisel.

On Netflix: Hampstead, The Last Laugh ( lovely Richard Dreyfus and Chevy Chase),

The Wife and the Notebook, good films not necessarily feel good.

My favourite film is Michael. Funny, touching and feel good. Plus John Travolta as an angel, what's not to love ❤️

A recent one I watched because the grandchildren loved it. It is called A Dogs Purpose. It’s so lovely and it makes you cry
My favourite adult film of all time is To Sir with Love with Sidney Poitier. OMG that man had sex appeal by the bucketful !

Always Be My Maybe on Netflix. It's a breath of fresh air. Totally feelgood.

And there's only one sex scene in it and it's not explicit

About Time

Have watched them all many times, whenever I feel a bit down I play one of these and if I get to have a good cry as well, that's perfect!

Went to see "Yesterday" and will probably add that to my collection of feel-good movies too, it was charming and sweet and full of wonderful songs.

NotAGran55 Sun 14-Jul-19 08:08:09

E.T and will add ‘Yesterday ‘ although it is a new one - I loved it .

Try Man Up (Simon Pegg) on Amazon Prime - lovely, funny film.

Paint Your Wagon, I have seen it so many times. It's probably because I fell in love with Clint Eastwood in Rawhide. blush

Bless This House The Movie
George and Mildred The Movie
On the Buses films
Naked Gun, Leslie Nielsen

My go to film is "The Commitments". I once put together a few DVD's for a friend who was feeling down and sent her:

Mary Poppins
Bridget Jones
Love Actually

and several others, but I've forgotten which ones now. I do remember frantically looking for my Mary Poppins and getting another one because I thought I'd lost it. Then my friend sent me the whole lot back so then I had two Mary Poppins!

Oh - and since then, as that was several years ago now, I would add "Brooklyn".

gillybob Sun 14-Jul-19 21:56:25
