My favourite series from way back was Love for Lydia; I'd love to rewatch that.

That looks good Glamma. Another one for when there's only rubbish on tv.

If you enjoy period drama try Cider with Rosie on prime. June Whitfield and Annette Crosbie are brilliant as two old crones. It is gentle, rustic and the scenery is beautiful. I believe it is based on the true life of Laurie Lee who is one of the stars in the drama. Perfect for a wet afternoon viewing. Enjoy!! smile

We’re catching up with Peaky Blinders and Life on Mars on these wet days.

Oh now I think I understand - my TV is not at all smart so I don't see such things as apps and players. Just old fashioned normal Sky.

I have searched under name of programme and been into C4 catchup Drama but sadly not there.

I am considering a smart TV so this might be another reason to get one. Thanks for trying to help.

Sorry you can't find it on the tv seacliff. You want 'players and apps', then channel 4. Then 'categories'. 'Dramas' then scroll down the little squares in rows that come up. Keep going down.

I cannot find it on my TV, have tried what you said. This is not first time I have been unable to track a programme, very annoying as it looks good.

Could watch it on laptop as per link, thanks anyway.

The link also reminded me of Joanna Trollope's, The Rector's Wife. Something for wet and windy winter days.

Thanks, Gonegirl

Doesn't date!

RedRidingHood Sun 13-Oct-19 16:37:54

I remember reading Mary Wesley years ago, I imagine it does really date.
I've discovered recently that after a lifetime of avoiding period drama I actually quite like it. Currently watching Downton for the first time and Heartbeat.

Try Mary Wesley's books - they're great!

kircubbin2000 Sun 13-Oct-19 15:14:20

Thanks, I'll try that.

newnanny Sun 13-Oct-19 13:12:57

I will give it a go as just finished watching The Confession and Sanditon is last episode tonight.

went not sent

Gonegirl Sun 13-Oct-19 12:47:38

Terribull I loved her first book, Jumping The Queue, and this one is good, but I think her books sent downhill after that.

Gonegirl Sun 13-Oct-19 12:45:15

If that doesn't work for you, go to Channel 4 catchup. Go to Drama, and scroll down (a long way) until you see the Camomile Lawn.

I often search for old dramas like that. They seem to keep everything they've ever shown"

Gonegirl Sun 13-Oct-19 12:42:47

Kircubbin click on the link in OP "this is very good". Should take you to Channel 4 and the first episode.

kircubbin2000 Sun 13-Oct-19 12:21:00

Where is the Mary Wesley drama?

Sara65 Sun 13-Oct-19 10:14:05

I saw it years ago as well, really enjoyed it.

gallusquine Sun 13-Oct-19 10:12:51

Gonegirl thanks for the recommendation.

Unbelievable, Netflix drama based on the Pulitzer Prize winning article "An Unbelievable Story of Rape" is worth watching.

TerriBull Sun 13-Oct-19 10:10:47

Saw it years ago, I know I enjoyed it, I think I'd read a lot of her books by then..........and then she died, a while back but she was well into her '90s. She only took up writing in the latter part of her life, her own life was quite fascinating but I've forgotten why.

Gonegirl Sun 13-Oct-19 09:55:42

this is very good

It's from the book by Mary Wesley, The Camomile Lawn.

It's an old series, 1994, but it passes some pleasant hours.
