This drama series promises to be an interesting watch with a topical subject. Here a much younger man targets a wealthy 60 year old woman. She throws all caution to the wind and goes along with it. How her grown up children react and the consequences of this relationship will make fascinating viewing.

Hope it has a happy ending like all fairy stories. ?

good things....her bottom is quite large and she has wrinkles...bad things they are all multi millionaires and she has long hair.

(shallow I know)

I am enjoying this and I have watched three episodes so I will so no more other than it’s nice to have a watchable drama that’s not challenging my brain cells too much. I also have serious house envy and it’s not the only one she owns either.

I was not very well so binge watched in bed. I will say no more until it’s all been aired.

Started watching this last night and am hooked!!! I will be binge watching as i cant wait to find out what happens. How comes that both main lady characters have such horrible untidy hair. To me it is not an attractive look. The daughter looks like she has just got out of bed and the mother, well, all that hair whilst cooking eww!!! We always have to knitpick dont we!!! lol smile

Chestnut Fri 15-Nov-19 09:42:58

Don't get me started on current hairstyles. They are just awful. Everyone looks like they've just got out of bed. I keep wanting to take a pair of straighteners to them just to get the kinks out. And even worse, many of them look like they've been cut with a pair of shears.

Welshwife Fri 15-Nov-19 09:53:56

People cooking with hair everywhere is not a good look neither is it a hygienic one!
So many women have the same hairstyle that it is at times difficult to know who is who.

Lisagran Fri 15-Nov-19 09:57:34

It’s good we’re all different, isn’t it?! I love the mother’s hair (the daughter’s not so much hmm ) and I think she’s very attractive, wrinkles and all. I too have house envy, Jane43 - gorgeous place!
Funnily enough, suziewoozie, I too binge watched in bed yesterday as I have a heavy cold / achey /headache. Interesting ending. Definitely worth watching.

I watched 2 episodes and then had to binge watch the rest because I was totally hooked!!

I thought her hair was lovely - wish I could grow mine that long and have so much of it! Googled her this morning to see how old she really is, and was surprised to find that she is only 54 as she has more lines than I do and I am much older.... .

Lisagran Fri 15-Nov-19 13:18:47

I wondered if the Make Up Dept had added wrinkles and lines Sparklefizz to age her?

oldgimmer1 Fri 15-Nov-19 15:57:12

Miaow Sparklefizz...grin.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. She's nice-looking and I'm sure she scrubs up well.

I just think she should like she's made a bit of an effort. Her hair is (usually) all over the place and, yes, she has lots of wrinkles. I haven't seen her in anything else so I'm wondering whether the cameras are deliberately making her look more wrinkled to fit some stereotypical view of a 60-year-old woman.

And I don't know if this is just me, but I'm finding the casual references to her age a bit OTT. In fact, I'm finding the casual ageism vibe somewhat tedious and predictable.

I'm being a bit sensitive as I've just turned 60 myself and in good shape with a distinct lack of wrinkles. As are most women my age I know.

Sparklefizz Fri 15-Nov-19 16:45:28

I wondered if the Make Up Dept had added wrinkles and lines Sparklefizz to age her?

....or maybe she's a smoker? Camilla (Duchess of Cornwall) is very lined from years of smoking.

Calendargirl Fri 15-Nov-19 22:08:51

Just watched first episode on IPlayer. Bit disappointed, found it a bit predictable as others have said. Also rather unrealistic, at least to my naive eyes. Would you really dash off for a drink with someone who had just entered into conversation with you in a museum, wander round London with them, treat them to an expensive watch, then let them take you back to your hotel room and have what I can only imagine was torrid sex? And he was half your age! And looked like Jamie Dornan?

Yeah, right!

?

Lisagran Fri 15-Nov-19 22:19:55

If you stick with it, Calendargirl, later episodes (especially the last couple) show why they were both vulnerable and open to wanting to be with someone kind.......

Calendargirl Sat 16-Nov-19 07:14:46

Lisagran

Oh, I shall definitely stick with it, it’s just my envious streak coming out, as I don’t seem to attract chat ups from Jamie Dornan look-alikes!

Finished watching series last night, i will refrain from a commenthmm until others have finished it too.

NotAGran55 Sat 16-Nov-19 07:41:05

Going to binge watch this tomorrow. Really looking forward to it.

MaggieTulliver Sat 16-Nov-19 08:46:23

Just finished binge-watching it last night. Worth sticking with. Her house is lovely! She’s only 54 though and looks quite a bit older, think they should have casted an older actress who looks younger than her years!

grapefruitpip Sat 16-Nov-19 08:48:52

mm style over substance. I would have liked to see the same narrative set in run down part of an isolated housing scheme.

Sparklefizz Sat 16-Nov-19 09:09:47

I would have liked to see the same narrative set in run down part of an isolated housing scheme.

I wouldn't! I like a bit of escapism in these dreary times.

Flossieturner Sat 16-Nov-19 10:58:23

@travelsafar, would you mind pm to me and tell me the end. I like to know the ending the watch the story unfold. I do the same with Poirot. I watch the last 15 minutes then go back to the beginning.

gulligranny Sat 16-Nov-19 12:36:16

Sparklefizz, I'm with you! I watch tv for escapism and seeing that lovely house (actually, those lovely houses because the husband & best friend live in a beauty) and those lovely cars and those lovely clothes etc. takes me to somewhere ... lovely!
And I know that when it's over I can turn off the tv and snuggle down in my average house with my average husband and be very, very grateful that I don't have all those awful problems to confront.

Coolgran65 Sat 16-Nov-19 12:53:57

If it was set in a run down estate it wouldn't have the issue of is he after her money.

Sparklefizz Sat 16-Nov-19 14:06:57

Exactly gulligranny - except I don't have an "average husband" to snuggle with afterwards, but an extremely beautiful and above average cat grin

sandelf Sat 16-Nov-19 15:22:51

Watching - But infuriated from the start. How could a woman be so daft as to accept this pick up in the British Museum. She has forgotten the first rule. - Has to be a few days wait for first date, then do not tell all about yourself just be nice and listen, and do not show him your place before you see his etc. Of course then she would not have put herself in this horrible, committed and vulnerable position. Still, waiting to see what the secrets are...
