BBC costume drama at its best!
Plus a very neat little homage to The Third Man on the big wheel.
Liked it!

Loved it!

Oh yes, totally hooked. Intriguing intelligent drama, beautifully acted and shot, and glorious Vienna - perfection.

I'm going to have to stop doing the hyphen perfection thing, it's annoying me and probably everyone else. I will just say that Vienna Blood was brilliant, couldn't be bettered and I loved it.

At last, something very well watching.

One of the very few things that DH and I both watched and enjoyed. Shame they have only made 3 episodes....

merlotgran Mon 18-Nov-19 22:51:07

Very good.

Excellent. So well done, and I really like the characters.

I loved it. Excellent drama, beautiful sets, and Vienna of course.
I hope they are going to make more than three, as there are more books in the series.
I haven't read any of them as I don't usually read crime fiction.

Gosh, I must be the only one that didn't like it. I found myself getting bored and much of it was predictable. However, glad others enjoyed it, I won't be watching it again

Yes it was a bit predicable and Sherlock Holmes but I really enjoyed it. The sets were really good and superb acting by all the cast. I will definitely be watching the next episode.

Sounds great. Glad I recorded it (but watched I'm a Celebrity blush)

trisher Tue 19-Nov-19 11:25:58

It was great. Loved the costumes and the whole period atmosphere. I've wanted to go to Vienna for a long time, now I'm even more keen.

I'm losing track of how many new dramas/comedies etc there are on tv at the moment. When I saw War of the Worlds I just assumed it was the Tom Cruise film and I only noticed Vienna Blood on catchup. Wondered if it was a bit Ripper Street'ish [which I loved. [I'm currently watching a box set of Sherlock that I missed first time around.....]

Deedaa Tue 19-Nov-19 20:59:02

Wasn't going to watch it, but glad I did. Loved the sets and costumes.

AllotmentLil Wed 20-Nov-19 21:36:03

Loved every minute.

Auntieflo Tue 26-Nov-19 23:05:50

Forgot we had recorded this, but watched the 1st episode tonight.
Loved it, so did DH.

NanKate Thu 28-Nov-19 07:42:43

Watched episode 2 and thoroughly enjoyed it too.

Yehbutnobut Thu 28-Nov-19 08:01:06

Not bad.

Maggiemaybe Thu 28-Nov-19 08:12:28

You’re not the only one, Fiachna, I was underwhelmed too. I loved Sherlock, but found myself looking at my watch towards the end of this. DH enjoyed it so we did watch episode 2, which I thought was better (but still not great).

Jane10 Thu 28-Nov-19 08:34:50

Well I'm glad I read the recommendations on this thread. I watched my recording yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a bit different. Looking forward to catching up on the next episodes.

Charleygirl5 Thu 28-Nov-19 09:20:40

Jane I think only 3 episodes have been made and the last will be this Monday..

Lovetopaint037 Thu 28-Nov-19 10:41:34

A refreshing change from the usual run of the mill. Really enjoyable. I wonder if they are based on books. Like the single story longer format.

Gonegirl Thu 28-Nov-19 10:43:31

Can anyone tell me what channel this is is on please? (Please don't say Sky or Netflix. Got neither)

Gonegirl Thu 28-Nov-19 10:44:13

Ah! sorry. OP says BBC. Durrr!
