Since the records thread brought back many happy memories I started to think about concerts that you may have liked/loved/loathed when you were young.

I'm starting off with some I saw when still at school:

Bob Dylan, solo at the Albert Hall - we sat right at the top and he looked so small
Tamla Motown Road Show (with Stevie Wonder when he was little)
Manfred Man
Beatles Christmas Show - that was the worst because I couldn't hear anything. Too much screaming

Did anyone ever go to a Queen concert? That's one I really wish I'd seen.

Beatles every time they came to Birmingham, chatted with George (my lifelong hero), chased Paul McCartney around Birmingham Town Hall (he was in a coach). I have a photo of myself with them, as I have previously bored everyone with on here. Rolling Stones twice, Kinks, Tom Jones, Rod Stewart, Cilla, Gene Pitney, many more. A few in recent years too including Elton John, Tony Bennett. The best I've seen in recent years is Michael Bublé - he was unbelievable.

Yardbirds, Cream (at the Marquee and the Manor House)
Jerry Lee Lewis at the Flamingo (an all nighter and he didn't turn up until around 2.30am having come down from a gig in the Midlands)
Jimmy Hendrix at the Savile Theatre
Chicken Shack
NJF festival at Richmond Athletic Ground - the only thing I remember is Arthur Brown arriving on stage via a crane with his flaming headgear)
Stax Volt Roadshow - loved Otis Reading
Ike and Tina Turner (twice) 2nd time was after they were famous and there were 2 shows in one evening. We had tickets for the first and they were about 45 minutes late and finished on time so they rushed through their numbers.

That just about takes me to the time I met my OH.

I just love music and went to as many gigs as possible. I had to have an evening job because after paying my rent and other bills I spent most of my salary within a week of receiving it.
