Did anyone watch this "A Berry Royal Christmas" last night? I thought it was delightful. Great to learn more about the charity work William and Kate do, and they are such a happy couple, clearly have a lot of fun together and are good sports (and don't need to be clutching hold of each other to prove anything!)

Kate seems fine face-to-face but still seems a bit shy about giving speeches and I find that rather endearing.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Yes, they seem to be a lovely couple.

They were lovely, especially as that dessert looked ever so slightly rather too sickly and calorific for my taste. And judging by Kate’s figure probably her’s too.

Jaxie Tue 17-Dec-19 08:54:23

I think Kate looks anorexic.

I enjoyed it too, only watched a bit but am definitely making that Warming Beef Stew recipe, it sounds divine!

I always find Mary Berry a bit sickly too NfkDumpling

Thank you Sparklefizz for posting about the Mary Berry and the Cambridges programme - I have just watched it on catch-up and loved it.
I always love watching Mary Berry and the Cambridges came across as a lovely couple.
Thank you again x

It was a lovely programme and William was so natural with everyone. He is a good sport and enjoys having fun while being a good listener. Catherine was somewhat nervous and spoke so quickly sometimes she swallowed her words and giggled a lot. It must be hard for her to have to worry about how she looks, how she performs, how she gets her message across etc. ..... all this in front of many cameras.

yes me to Sodapop ,,in fact i am just not a fan of hers ,but the Cambridges ,really lovely couple ,none of that "he`s mine "attitude ,,,

seadragon Tue 17-Dec-19 10:18:37

Why has this nice post turned, albeit subtly, into Megan bashing?

inkcog Tue 17-Dec-19 10:20:56

I have never quit recovered from MB saying her husband didn't like her wearing trousers, certainly not when they were having their evening meal. Hilarious.

Anniebach Tue 17-Dec-19 10:21:19

The Cambridges are a partnership, mutual respect for each other, no clinging, no complaining. No need to cling to each other trying to tell the world ‘we are so in love’, this is obvious
when they just glance at each other, they both have a great sense of humour too.

merlotgran Tue 17-Dec-19 10:27:49

Me too, inkcog and another funny moment at the end of one of her big celebrations in her lovely garden.

Her little granddaughter was handing round canapés and told Mary, 'That old man over there would like another sausage roll.'

'Oh.' said Mary. 'Do you mean Grandpa?' grin

Nanny27 Tue 17-Dec-19 10:29:36

Why can't we say nice things about the Cambridges without being so nasty about the Sussexes?

Zaiba78 Tue 17-Dec-19 10:42:21

Nanny27

I agree

Margaux Tue 17-Dec-19 10:56:47

Agree - thought it was lovely and warm and kind-hearted. But am I alone in feeling that Andrew got a rough deal? He is not the brightest jewel in the crown but is he the mindless playboy he has been painted? We hear zilch of the work he has done. And as Professor Dershowitz has pointed out, the emphasis throughout has been on whether he has told the truth, rather on his accuser's record- and she has been accused of lying, most recently in a book by Dershowitz, an Emeritus Harvard Professor. He speaks of guilt by accusation. Could this turn out to be another Carl Beech case? Is there a tendency to assume that a victim, or someone who presents as a victim, is always right, and that the powerful or famous they accuse - Ted Heath or Cliff Richard or the then dying Leon Brittan- are guilty until proved innocent? Dershowitz points out that the burden of proof should rest with the accuser. Is there a danger that it might be placed on the accused?

I thought that William was very natural when speaking with people, Kate too. She did seem quite nervous at times. I think when William gives speeches he comes over as a bit uncomfortable but with a Mike and with the groups of people he was a delight and both seemed to really enjoy being with people. It is difficult not to do a comparison between these two and the very needy Harry and Meghan who are really only interested in themselves, and each other.

Disneyfan Tue 17-Dec-19 10:58:40

We loved it. They both seem so relaxed and natural. Mary Berry is a favourite of ours so great all round.

Pippa22 Tue 17-Dec-19 11:00:34

I was buying some utensils and interesting food bits for a hamper as part of my adult sons Christmas present. It wasn’t until I got home that I looked properly at this packet. Should I put it in the hamper ?

Margaux Tue 17-Dec-19 11:03:17

PS. Amazing Mary Berry - 84 going on 54

How does she do it?

suttonJ Tue 17-Dec-19 11:10:42

Yawn. Can't join in all this deference, aren't they wonderful guff. Sorry.

GrannyLaine Tue 17-Dec-19 11:12:43

@Margaux, what relevance does your post about Prince Andrew have to this thread about Mary Berry & the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?

Anyone7 Tue 17-Dec-19 11:28:35

Haven’t watched it yet, it’s lined up for tonight. smile Love everything with Mary Berry in it and the Cambridges seem like a nice couple.

Millie22 Tue 17-Dec-19 11:32:39

Yes loved it and Mary Berry is amazing. William and Kate do such a lot of good work for charitable causes.
